Jinghua Times: The news that you are going to have surgery to become a woman is overwhelming. Does it feel high-profile?

Liu Ting: I never watch the news. I just want to be myself. For the sake of my mother and as an example, I persisted for eight years before I freed myself.

After it was reported that I wanted to have sex-change surgery, I received many emails and messages from plastic surgery hospitals. I chose a hospital in Guangzhou.

Jinghua Times: What preparations have you made now?

Liu Ting: Doctors are very cautious. Now the surgical plan has been decided, but because of my malnutrition, the doctor said to wait until my body recovered. Now, surgery is to make the face and skin smooth. The next two operations are relatively large, one is chest surgery, and the other is reconstruction of sexual organs, which takes about a year.

The doctor told me about the risks of surgery. I have read books on psychology and thought about various problems. My immunity may be lower. But compared with being yourself, these are not problems.

Liu Ting: She is very happy and successful. She hoped that my operation would go well and I could realize my dream.

Jinghua Times: Your mother initially said that even if you go back to your daughter's body, there may not be any boys who like you anymore, right? What are your preparations for your new life and work?

Liu Ting: I signed my novel Liu Ting. I hope it can be published, and I hope the society can tolerate me.

I can't find a girl to marry and have children without surgery. There is no such way. I had a secret crush in junior high school, but I restrained myself. I liked a boy in high school, but he turned me down as a friend. I won't be too reluctant about whether boys will like me in the future. I have this psychological preparation, as long as I am myself.
