Method for accelerate flower see germination
Different kinds of flowers, because of their different seed coat structure and physiological mechanism, have different seed germination time, such as a bunch of safflower, green chrysanthemum, impatiens, etc., as long as they are sown in time, they can emerge quickly. But some flowers need months or even years to germinate, so artificial germination must be carried out to break the dormancy of seeds. Generally speaking, the following three treatment methods are usually used:

1. Variable temperature method Some flower seeds, such as tassels, pods, peonies, etc. It has the habit of double dormancy of radicle and hypocotyl, that is, radicle (the part of seed embryo that develops into root) needs to go through the high temperature stage of 25℃ -30℃ for 65,438+0 to 2 months or longer, while hypocotyl needs 65,438+at 3℃-5℃. For these seeds, they must be mixed with wet sand before sowing, and after a certain period of high temperature, they will turn into low temperature. After temperature change treatment, spring sowing can germinate quickly. However, attention must be paid to ensure the time of high temperature period and low temperature period, otherwise the seeds will still be difficult to emerge after sowing.

Second, the water immersion method is suitable for seeds with short dormancy and easy germination, such as bauhinia, pearl plum and brocade. , soak the seeds in warm water at 40℃-60℃ 1 to 2 days, and then sow directly. Soak rhubarb and other seeds in warm water at 90℃, let them cool naturally for 24 hours, make their gum and waxy seed coat soften and absorb water, and then germinate. However, it should be noted that when treating seeds with water immersion, fresh water should be changed frequently, and the water temperature should not be higher than 60℃ for more than half an hour, and then the water temperature should be lowered below 40℃, otherwise the seeds will die easily.

Third, low temperature method Some flower seeds, such as Rosa roxburghii, Chimonanthus praecox, Forsythia suspensa, clove and some autumn sowing herbs, need to be treated at low temperature (0℃- 10℃) for a certain period of time to break the dormancy of embryos and germinate. The method is to mix the seeds with sand with a humidity of 60% (put them away after kneading by hand), then put them into plastic bags, tie the mouth tightly, put them into flowerpots, and then bury the flowerpots in an open field with a depth of 40 to 60 cm. Alternatively, you can put the seeds in the refrigerator at 3℃-5℃ for 60 -90 days, and then take them out for sowing in spring. Or sow in the open field in autumn, let the seeds germinate after natural low temperature in winter and be unearthed in the next year.
