What material is used for the keel of the ceiling? What role does keel play in suspended ceiling?
The ceiling is what we often call the ceiling. Many families in the decoration, in order to have a better decorative effect, will choose to design ceilings in living rooms, corridors and other places. In the suspended ceiling, keel is an essential suspended ceiling material. There are many kinds of materials for ceiling keel in the market. What material is good for ceiling keel? What role does keel play in the process of suspended ceiling? Today, I would like to introduce to you what material the keel of the ceiling is made of and what role the keel plays in the ceiling.

What material is used for the keel of the ceiling?

1, wooden keel

The wooden keel is mainly made of cork such as pine and Chinese fir. When you buy it, you should choose straight, non-split and dry keel. Before using the wooden keel, for the sake of safety, it is necessary to brush the moistureproof and fireproof paint.

2, aluminum alloy keel

Aluminum alloy keel is an improvement of traditional iron paint keel. It has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, good decoration and easy processing. Pay attention to the wall thickness not less than 0.8mm when purchasing, and there can be no distortion. The surface also needs anodizing and plastic spraying.

3. Light steel keel

Light steel keel is a kind of suspended ceiling metal keel, which is light in texture and convenient to process. 50 series light steel keels shall be adopted, and the wall thickness of galvanized sheet shall be higher than1mm. The primary and secondary keels and connectors shall be galvanized, and the coating shall be intact and undamaged. When purchasing, the keel should be straight without bending.

4, triangular keel

Triangular keel, also known as T-shaped keel, is a common material for ceiling keel. Its raw material is hot-rolled galvanized sheet, which is made by cold rolling process and shaped into triangular metal skeleton. Usually installed with U-shaped light steel keel.

What role does keel play in suspended ceiling?

Keel is the skeleton and base material of decoration, which is very common. The role of keel in suspended ceiling is mainly used to support building materials for modeling and fixing structure. Widely used in hotels, terminals, passenger stations, stations, theaters, shopping malls, factories, office buildings, old building renovation, indoor decoration settings, ceilings and other places.

Construction technology of keel ceiling

1, elastic line

Elastic line is mainly used in the room to measure the height of the ceiling (plus the thickness of a layer of board) on the cultural (column) surface according to the design requirements, and draw a standard line at this point (as the lower leather line of the ceiling keel).

2, fixed boom

Fix the hanger with expansion screws, then punch holes in the top plate with an impact hammer and install the expansion bolts. One end of the suspender is welded with L30x30x3 angle code, and the other end is welded with screw. The manufactured suspenders shall be rust-proof.

3. Install the side keel

When installing the side keel, it is necessary to play the line according to the design requirements, and fix the L-shaped galvanized light steel bar on the embedded wooden brick along the horizontal keel line on the wall (column) with self-tapping screws. If it is a concrete wall (column), it can be fixed with nails, and the spacing of nails should be less than the spacing of secondary keels.

4, install the main keel

When the main keel is installed on the ceiling, it should be installed in parallel with the length of the room, with a spacing of 900- 1000mm, and the springing height during installation is 1/200- 1/300 of the span of the room. The extension of the main keel should be connected, and the adjacent keel should be staggered. After the main keel is hung, it should be basically leveled.

5. Install the secondary keel

The secondary keel should be installed close to the main keel with a spacing of 300-600 mm The secondary keel is fixed on the main keel with a T-shaped galvanized iron sheet connector, and both ends of the secondary keel are placed on the horizontal flange of the L-shaped side keel. The strip gusset plate should have a special internal angle line as the side keel.

6, keel frame comprehensive correction

Conduct a comprehensive inspection and correction of the installed ceiling keel frame. After the structural position and levelness of primary and secondary keels are qualified, tighten all hangers and connectors and clamp them to make the whole skeleton stable and reliable.

7. Install the cover plate

Rust-proof paint should be applied to the ceiling and welding parts of light steel frame cover panel before completion. Then install the cover panel at the installed keel position.

Precautions for keel ceiling

1. During construction, check the rigor of lifting points, and check whether the elevation and flatness conform to the specifications. Mainly because when installing the big keel, if the suspender is uneven, it will cause the ceiling to be uneven.

2. Before nailing the cover panel, the exposed iron parts in the ceiling should be painted with antirust paint twice, and the position of the contact surface between the wooden frame and the structure should be handled in time to avoid rust in the future.

3, in the construction, should be fixed before, in order to avoid joint pressure, blank holder is lax, uneven.

4. When the wooden keel ceiling is constructed, the pipeline in the ceiling should be protected, and the derrick and keel of the wooden skeleton are not allowed to be fixed on ventilation pipes and other equipment. Wood skeleton materials, such as cover plates, need to be properly protected during use, and no deformation, damage or pollution can occur.
