On the day of "February 2nd, the dragon looks up", thousands of villagers from Shiliba Township flocked here from all directions to attend the annual rural party. Attractive snacks are also coming from all over the country. There are all kinds of snacks, such as buckwheat noodles with oblique mouth, oil cakes of Tianwang, fried bean jelly of Baqiao and so on. Variety, circus and Shaanxi opera all show their charm, and various folk social fires all show their unique skills. The scene is bustling and lively, and it can be called the largest temple fair in the east of Xi 'an.
The old cave club is named after the old cave temple. Its temple site is at the northern foot of Bailuyuan, east of Xi 'an and west of Baling. The temple is surrounded by mountains and waters and has beautiful scenery. According to records, the Laodong Temple was built in the Ming Dynasty, initially by a local good-hearted man surnamed Wang and a good-hearted man surnamed Niu. After continuous expansion and repair, it has formed the hole of Hall 8 14 on the third floor. For many years, tourists have been in an endless stream and pilgrims have wandered back and forth.
Before liberation, the old cave society was run by the "Three Societies". Yanggeta and Moring Miao Village are the East Society, Shijiadao is the Middle Society, and Liucun and Hejiajie are the West Society, which are customarily called "three societies and five members". Every year, the village community sends incense and gongs and drums to the old cave conference, which is spectacular. In particular, singing against Taiwan, under the cry of everyone, you sing and we sing, wear red and throw red envelopes, and the applause is like a tide, which is inseparable.
Living in that era, people can often go there to meet the immortals in the Hall of Ursa Major and visit the Luohan statue in the cave. They are all exquisite, exquisite in craftsmanship and colorful in paintings, which can be called fine folk clay sculptures.
It was also in that era that temples were demolished and caves were destroyed and factories were built. This temple with a history of more than 400 years has disappeared and lost its vitality.
In the 1980s, a local monk named Mao Jushi ran around to revive the old cave temple and finally died in three ditches. Later successors built temples on the east side of the old cave temple. Its scale sculpture can't keep up with the 14 hole clay sculpture art in Hall 8 on the third floor. In recent years, with the reform and opening up, the temple fair in Laodong has gradually recovered.
