Morphological characteristics of purple forest pigeons
The forehead, head and pillow of Zilin pigeon are all gray, and the eyes are gray first and then gray. The back neck is light brown with purple metallic luster, and the upper back is chestnut red with wide metallic green feather edge. The back and shoulders are chestnut red, and the feathers have purple metallic luster. The exposed parts of the inner wing's feathers and inner flight feathers are also dark chestnut red. The waist and tail are covered with dark gray feathers, and the ends of the feathers have a faint purple-red metallic luster. The tail is dark brown. The wing margin and primary feathers are dark brown. The flight feathers are also dark brown, and the inner secondary flight feathers are on the same back. The neck and throat are light brown and shiny, and the lower body is grape chestnut but brassy, especially in the throat and chest. The feathers turn dark grape chestnut from back to end.

The iris is yellow. Red mouth and white tip; Red feet; Claws are light or yellow and stained with ash.
