Tongji hospital was founded by German doctor paulun erich in 1900. 1955 moved to Wuhan.
The hospital has 62 clinical medicine departments, 8 national key disciplines and 30 national key clinical specialty construction projects (the second in the country). The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has been selected into the National Clinical Medical Research Center of Obstetrics and Gynecology (the only national clinical medical research center in Hubei Province), and the Department of Rehabilitation is a research and training center designated by the World Health Organization.
