According to ethnology, most men in Tianshui, Gansu Province have high noses and big eyes. Historically, Tianshui people in Gansu Province originated from the mixed blood of Han, Hun and Turk, and had the appearance characteristics of high nose and big eyes.

Tianshui, formerly known as Qin Zhou and Shangguan, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Gansu Province and a sub-central city of Gansu Province approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government.
