Introduction of planting methods of potted persimmon trees
1, variety selection

It is generally recommended to choose fine varieties with early fruiting, dwarf tree shape and beautiful fruit shape, such as lantern persimmon and mopan persimmon which are popular in the market now.

2. Choose a pot and configure nutrition.

Persimmon trees have developed taproots, so we should choose a deep clay basin that is permeable and breathable. And choose the deep, loose and fertile sandy soil with good drainage and rich humus in the upper layer to mix with the decomposed farmyard manure.

3. On the washbasin

Generally, potted plants are transplanted after defoliation in autumn or early winter. Choose robust seedlings with full buds and no pests and diseases. Before planting, cut off the necrotic roots and excessively long lateral roots. After transplanting, add nutrients, compact, water and plant in sunny places.

4. Fertilizer and water management

Fertilization is mainly organic fertilizer, and thin application is more. From flowering to fruit setting, water and fertilizer should be controlled to avoid excessive growth of branches, so as to promote flower bud differentiation. After fruit setting, watering and fertilization should be resumed, and appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be added, which is beneficial to persimmon fruit coloring and improving fruit quality.

In addition, in order to make persimmon trees grow normally, the watering times should be controlled every day to make the soil moist, and the watering should be strictly controlled during the dormancy period so that the pots will not be too dry.

5, plastic pruning

In order to make persimmon trees grow better, it is necessary to cut off weak branches and overlapping branches to increase indoor ventilation and light transmission, but excessive thinning will make the remaining branches elongate rapidly, resulting in bald branches and dryness. Before and after the flowering period, branches with appropriate length can be left to remove the core, so that secondary branches can be produced, and flower buds can be formed in the same year, which is beneficial to fruit setting in the next year.

6. Flower and fruit management

In order to promote flowers and keep fruits, it is necessary to peel them with double half rings. Artificial pollination should be carried out in full bloom, and fruit thinning should be carried out after fruit dropping. 2-3 fruiting branches are reserved for each fruiting mother branch, and 2-3 fruits are reserved for each fruiting branch to improve fruit quality and yield.
