Hefei, referred to as "Lu" or "He", was called Luzhou, Luyang and Hefei in ancient times. Hefei is named after the fact that both the East Hefei River and the South Hefei River originated here.

Anhui Province is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital and megacity, located between 30 56 ′-32 33 ′ north latitude and116 40 ′-117 58 ′ east longitude. It lives between central Anhui and Jianghuai, connecting the east with the west, and connecting the south with the north.

Located in the west wing of the Yangtze River Delta, it belongs to the "Yangtze River Delta" urban agglomeration and is the hinterland of the coast and the frontier of the mainland. There are three landforms in the territory: hills, low hills and low plains, with hills as the main landform, subtropical monsoon humid climate, obvious monsoon, four distinct seasons, mild climate and moderate rainfall.
