The toenails always grow into the meat. What should I do if I get "ingrown toenails"? Doctor: You need to know these three points.
On this day, nurse Guo Jie brought a young man who jumped on one foot. The young man's name is Xiao Fang, and he works in sales. Because of the long-term need to run business, my right big toe was red and swollen for a whole month. This time, the pain was unbearable and he came to the hospital. After examination, the doctor found that Gao Xiao suffered from acute paronychia and ingrown toenails, which were caused by excessive trimming of toenails.

The chief culprit of toenails growing in meat is "toenails embedded". How painful is it to embed your toenails? Several patients who have experienced it personally say so.

Toe nails should extend outward from the skin. It grows in meat? This has to mention the culprit-ingrown toenails.

Normal people's nails should continue to grow forward and stop when they grow to the meat on both sides of the deck near the nail groove. However, ingrown toenails will pierce the tissues around toenails along the deck, thus causing inflammation of foreign bodies in local soft tissues and causing pain.

There are two high-risk groups of ingrown toenails, teenagers and people over 50 years old. Teenagers are more likely to exercise, and foot friction and squeezing can easily cause deck deformation, leading to ingrown toenails. People over 50 years old, especially women with ingrown toenails, are largely related to wearing high heels and pointed shoes for a long time.

In addition, excessive nail cutting, or failure to deal with paronychia in time after the attack, congenital pincer nail deformity and so on are all important inducing factors of ingrown toenails.

Dr. Chen from wuhan union hospital Hand and Foot Surgery gave us the following advice:

First of all, according to the clinical manifestations, ingrown toenails can be divided into three types: mild, moderate and severe.

Mild: The embedded toenail pierces the nail groove soft tissue, causing mild edema and tenderness, especially when walking or the toenail is compressed.

Moderate: onychomycosis has a long course, and the nail groove soft tissue can form a tough white film-like object, which is closely embedded with the nail groove soft tissue. When the toenail is pressed against this white membranous object, the pain is severe, showing inflammatory reaction, local skin swelling, no pus and granulation.

Severe: The nail groove soft tissue is ulcerated or swollen, inflammation can spread to the nail root, granulation tissue is formed, serous purulent secretion overflows, bacterial infection produces odor, and walking is often affected by severe pain.

Secondly, different degrees of ingrown toenails have different treatment methods.

Mild toenails are generally treated conservatively, such as inserting cotton (gradually separating the embedded nails from the surrounding granulation tissue) and using nail correction patches.

Surgical treatment is recommended for mild ingrown toenails, or moderate and severe ingrown toenails that are ineffective in conservative treatment. At present, the new surgical method is to remove the hyperplastic and infected part of nail groove tissue together with toenail, nail bed and nail root, and then complete the nail groove formation at one time.

After general surgical treatment, infection and ingrown toenails can be obviously improved, but for patients with recurrent attacks. It's not just nail pulling.

Finally, for patients with recurrent attacks, it is necessary to treat the nail bed hair growth matrix, the "base bed" of the nail, so that the part of the nail that is stuck in it will no longer grow. Simply put, after mom left, remove the nails on the diseased side and then treat the nail bed of the diseased nails with medical phenol.

This method was confirmed by Grieg's clinical research 199 1 and published in the authoritative magazine JBJS. Experimental data show that the recurrence rate of "partial norepinephrine+benzene treatment group" is only 9%.

Miao Miao mentioned the reason why toenails are embedded, which has something to do with our incorrect wearing shoes and cutting nails. Accordingly, in order to prevent ingrown toenails, we can choose appropriate loose shoes, moderately cut our nails, and actively treat ingrown toenails or paronychia when they are found, so as to avoid the occurrence of ingrown toenails.

Inlaid nails grow in the flesh and blood, which is a terrible pain. The best way to avoid diseases is prevention. I hope everyone will take good care of my feet, maintain local hygiene and avoid "accidents".
