The difference between 304l and 304
The main differences between 304l and 304 are chemical composition and mechanical properties.

1, the chemical composition is different.

The most basic thing is that the carbon content of 304L stainless steel is lower than 0.03, while that of 304 stainless steel is lower than 0.08.

2. Different mechanical properties.

Compared with the mechanical properties of 304L, this steel is obtained by reducing the carbon content of 304 to below 0.03%, and its general characteristics are almost the same as those of 304. However, 304L stainless steel can inhibit the sensitization caused by chromium carbide precipitation at 500~900oC, so it is suitable for large-scale welded building materials and pipe fittings that need to be used directly after welding. The biggest feature of stainless steel is to improve the intergranular corrosion sensitivity, reduce the carbon content to the welding position, and will not cause practical thermosensitization problems.

304L stainless steel or 304 stainless steel, which is better for stretching?

The tensile properties of 304L stainless steel are better than that of 304 stainless steel. The work hardening of 304L stainless steel is not serious, and the phenomenon of hardness increasing and plasticity decreasing is not obvious. The springback degree of 304L stainless steel caused by bending and reverse bending at the fillet of drawing die is low, so there is no need for shaping. The probability of sticking is small when 304L stainless steel is stretched. 304L stainless steel is not easy to crack as a stamping part.
