Can the hair on the face be depilated by laser?
The face can be depilated. The hair on our faces is fluffy and can be removed. As long as we operate on time, we can completely remove hair.

Photodepilation is to separate hair follicles from stem cells by using double-pulse laser, which makes hair follicles lose nutritional supply.

Precautions for laser hair removal:

1. Scrape the hair visible on the skin surface first: the laser is like a precise sniper, aiming at the target (melanin) with a special bullet (wavelength), while the passers-by around (other tissues and structures of the skin) are completely unaffected. Because melanin absorbs light energy, it is necessary to shave the hair in the depilation area before surgery. Otherwise, because the hair on the epidermis absorbs a lot of energy, the local skin will feel burning, and even cause pigmentation in severe cases, which not only increases the pain of treatment, but also affects the treatment effect because the melanin in the hair follicle absorbs less light energy. After the hair is shaved, the pain of the skin will be greatly reduced during treatment.

2, need to complete the whole course of treatment: only one treatment, but the hair follicles in the growing period are destroyed, and some of them can no longer grow the final hair. However, due to the limited effect of the first treatment, with the progress of time, the hair follicles in the static and degenerative state entered the growth period, and because of the safe range of laser energy, the growing hair follicles could not be completely destroyed during the first treatment, and it seems that the hair density will approach the original state. So if you only do one or two treatments and want to continue treatment after half a year, you still have to start from scratch.

3. Preparation before laser hair removal:

① Avoid sunlight in the hair removal area and use sunscreen for more than 2 weeks.

② Clean the skin in the hair removal area, remove the surface grease, and shave the hair (just scrape it against the hair root with a hair scraper, and pay attention to prevent scratching).

③ People who are particularly sensitive to pain can be given topical anesthesia in advance, such as topical recurrent lidocaine cream.

4. The side effects of laser hair removal are slight: there will be slight tingling during laser hair removal, slight burning sensation after operation, mild erythema and follicular papules on local skin, which will disappear within a few hours. A few patients will have purpura, blisters, temporary pigmentation or hypopigmentation, and most of them will recover after several months.

In addition, because of tingling, painful stimulation may stimulate contractions, which is not recommended for pregnant women. The way to reduce the side effects is to do a good job of sun protection before and after the operation, shave the epidermal hair before the operation, ice compress during and after the treatment, and then apply skin care ointment externally. After laser hair removal, pay attention to external sunscreen before outdoor activities. In addition, a few people are sensitive to laser stimulation. In order to avoid side effects, we can do experimental treatment of several spots in the local area first, and then treat them in a large area after making sure there is no problem.
