When is Osmanthus fragrans suitable for plastic pruning?
Adult osmanthus trees shoot twice a year in spring and autumn, and proper pruning can maintain the physiological balance of growth. Prune after flowering in autumn, loosen the branches that are too dense, and cut off the long branches in summer and autumn, so that thick and short branches are evenly left on each side. Pruning before germination in early spring, cutting off weak branches, pests and diseases to facilitate ventilation and light transmission, can breed more full flower buds. Branches that are sprouting are often cut off during the growing period to facilitate concentrated flowering.
