How to prune mulberry trees
Mulberry pruning needs to cut off the non-lignified parts at the top of branches.

When pruning mulberry trees in spring, the incomplete growth part of xylem at the top of branches should be cut off, which can reduce the consumption of water and nutrients, ensure the healthy growth of branches, ensure high cold resistance when growing in low temperature environment, and improve the germination rate and fruit yield in spring.

When the temperature rises slowly, the buds on the branches should be removed randomly to avoid the phenomenon that the plants grow too densely and too thinly. When this happens, it will not be conducive to the growth of mulberry lateral branches and the development of young buds, greatly reducing the speed and quality of fruit ripening. It is best to cut off the incomplete xylem. When the length is 130 ~ 150 cm, the branch length of 1/6 should be cut off.

Mulberry conservation

Mulberry trees should not be below 0 degrees in winter, or their teeth will freeze to death. In summer, the temperature of mulberry trees should not be too high, not exceeding 40 degrees at most, otherwise it is difficult for mulberry trees to survive. Relatively speaking, mulberry trees have lower temperature requirements than other fruit trees, because the minimum temperature of mulberry trees cannot be lower than 4 degrees and the maximum temperature cannot be higher than 40 degrees. Relatively speaking, mulberry trees have lower temperature requirements than other fruit trees.

Because the lowest temperature of mulberry can't be lower than 4 degrees and the highest temperature can't be higher than 40 degrees, mulberry must be exposed to sunlight during its growth. Although mulberry trees are relatively shade-tolerant, long-term dark environment may make mulberry trees rot. Therefore, it is more beneficial to let mulberry trees bask in the sun properly. Mulberry trees are not particularly demanding of sunshine, as long as they can get sunshine.
