What about nasal bone fracture?
The treatment of nasal bone fracture should first restore the fractured nasal bone to its original position, and then carry out nasal packing and fixation to support the nasal bone. The tightness of packing should be appropriate, and the nose should be protected after operation to avoid compression within 2 weeks. Patients who wear glasses should not wear glasses for the time being. Nasal packing is feasible after reduction of nasal bone fracture. Nasal packing usually takes 2 ~ 3 days to take out, and the longest time is 1 week or longer. For comminuted and compound nasal bone fractures, it takes a long time, but the longest time is generally not more than 2 weeks. If the nasal packing time is too long, most patients will have nasal swelling pain and even reflex headache. Breathing through the mouth for a long time will cause dry throat and pain, which will seriously affect the patient's sleep and rest. Therefore, in recent years, iodoform gauze was used to indwell the inferior nasal meatus, and iodoform gauze was used to fill the middle nasal meatus and the tip of the nose. Normal nasal ventilation after operation can obviously reduce swelling and pain of nose and forehead and reflex headache. Iodoform gauze can be filled for a long time without infection, which is easy for patients to accept. For patients with bilateral nasal bone fracture and nasal septum fracture, it can also be fixed with inflatable sponge with snorkel, which can not only stop bleeding, but also play a supporting role, without affecting nasal ventilation and reducing discomfort caused by nasal congestion. Nasal packing may not be performed. In the treatment of compound nasal bone fracture, the first thing to do is to save the patient's life, keep the respiratory tract unobstructed, actively resist shock and stop bleeding, and then correct the nasal facial deformity and restore the physiological function of the nasal cavity after the condition is stable.

For patients with cerebrospinal fluid leakage, nasal packing is not suitable to avoid nasal bacteria retrograde infection of the brain. Old nasal bone fracture, because the broken end of nasal bone fracture has formed callus, the fracture has been deformed and healed, resulting in crooked nose deformity, which is difficult to recover by conventional nasal bone reduction.
