Bougainvillea grows rapidly, and its branches are often swollen, messy and dense, so it needs pruning 1-3 times a year.

After flowering, in order to promote the next flower to bloom ahead of time, pruning should also be carried out. It mainly cuts dead piles, riding branches (branches that grow upward at 90 degrees from the original branches), inner branches (weak branches that grow inside the crown, also called shady branches), overlapping branches (keeping strong and cutting weak) and virtual branches. Branches that you want to keep are generally not cut or lightly cut.

If it is a bougainvillea bonsai, all the non-reserved branches should be cut off, and the reserved branches should be cut again if they are too long to keep the shape beautiful.
