Explanation of words:
Ancient place names. In today's Hubei Province, the river in the northwest of Huangzhou City, because the mountain shape is completely like a wall, it has red color, also called Chibi.
Interpretation by reference:
Song Xue Xuan Ji's poem "Crossing Dongpo Late" says: "Smoke rises from the red nose and the rock head, and the waves in Wu Wang are high."
Qing Gu Zuyu's Reading Historical Records Minutes of Huguang Erhuang Prefecture: "Chibi Mountain stands by the river outside Hanchuan Gate in the northwest of Fucheng, and the earth and stone are all red. There is also Chibi Mountain, now also called Chibi Mountain. Su Shi thought that Zhou Yu was defeated by Cao Gong. "
Also known as "Chibi Loki". In the Yuan and Song Dynasties, Fang Hu wrote in "Two Nostalgia for Wu Ye": "The land of Huangzhou is rocky in Chibi, and rotten grass meets the horizon. Zhou Gongjin and Cao Mengde, what's the result? All broke into the words of fishing and firewood. "
Huanggang was called Huangzhou in ancient times. There is a big mountain in the west of Huangzhou. The cliff stands on the river like a giant's nose. Locals call it "Red Nose Rock". Over time, because of the similar pronunciation, it was simply called "Red Cliff". As far back as the Tang Dynasty, Huangzhou was a treasure trove of literati, that is, from then on, the story of Chibi was mistaken for the Red Cliff of the Three Kingdoms. Su Dongpo was once exiled to Huangzhou. After he arrives here, he certainly wants to enjoy the local places of interest. From this, I wrote a wonderful article "Before and After Red Wall Fu".
