It should be noted that the roots of rhododendrons are mostly capillary roots and cannot be watered with big water. If it rains, it should be drained in time to prevent the roots from rotting. Watering can be done once in spring and autumn 1 ~ 2 days, and once in the morning and evening when it is hot in summer. It is better to use sprinkler irrigation when watering, which is more conducive to plant absorption.
2. Plenty of light
Rhododendron likes semi-cloudy environment and can be placed in a place with sufficient sunlight scattering. Rhododendrons are afraid of strong light, so they must be properly shaded and ventilated in summer. Too much light may burn the leaves, causing them to dry up and die.
3. Improve soil quality
Rhododendron likes to grow in slightly acidic soil, which is fertile and loose with good ventilation and drainage. Therefore, you should always loosen the soil when maintaining. If the PH value is alkaline, ferrous sulfate solution can be added to improve it when watering.
4. Rational fertilization
After the azalea withers, the fertilizer applied is mainly nitrogen fertilizer, which can be applied once every other month. Before azaleas bloom, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied. When applying fertilizer, you must grasp the amount and never burn the roots.
5. Change pots and trim roots
After azaleas bloom, you can change pots and soil properly, take the whole plant out of the flowerpot, wash away the permanent soil on the roots with water, then prune some old roots and rotten roots, and then prepare fertile and loose soil for replanting.
