How to restore ptosis?
If the patient has ptosis, we should first make clear the cause and treat it according to the cause. Generally speaking, surgery is the main treatment for congenital ptosis, and the purpose of surgery is to restore the symmetry of the patient's appearance. If the levator palpebrae superioris muscle strength is good, it is more likely that each eye position will maintain appearance symmetry after operation. Moreover, if the patient's ptosis seriously blocks the pupil, which can lead to amblyopia, surgery should be performed as soon as possible.

If the function of levator palpebrae superioris has not been completely lost, shortening levator palpebrae superioris should be chosen as the surgical method. There are two kinds of incisions: skin incision and conjunctival incision. In recent years, it is advocated to implement combined incision to shorten levator palpebrae superioris to correct ptosis. When the levator palpebrae superioris muscle strength is weak and cannot meet the surgical requirements, frontalis muscle suspension or autologous fascia lata suspension should be chosen.

For acquired ptosis, that is, acquired ptosis, attention should be paid to excluding myasthenia gravis, nervous system or eye diseases and systemic diseases, so in this case, the etiology and drug treatment should be carried out first, and then surgery should be considered after failure.
