Brief introduction of apple growth

Apple trees like warm and humid environment, suitable for planting in fertile, loose, organic-rich soil, pay attention to good drainage and ventilation.

Apples are planted in the north and south of China. Generally, the most famous producing areas are mainly Yan 'an area, Yantai area, Jingning area, Lingbao area and Zhaotong area, among which the red Fuji varieties in Yantai are the most famous.

Apple growth cycle

Apple has a wide adaptability to the environment, and can tolerate frost at minus 40 degrees. The temperature at flowering and fruiting period should not be lower than 0 degrees, which will affect the yield. It is most suitable to grow in neutral and well-drained soil with ph value of 6.5.

The growth cycle of apples is about six months.

Apple growth rate

The growth process of apple must go through flowering period, physiological fruit drop period, fruit expansion period and maturity period.

From bud stage to fruit harvest, apples have fallen flowers and fruits four times. The first time is at the final flowering stage, the second time lasts for 5 ~ 20 days one week after flower dropping, that is, early fruit dropping, the third time is 7 ~ 14 days after the last fruit dropping, also called physiological fruit dropping, and the fourth time is before fruit harvesting, that is, before fruit harvesting.

Apple growth cycle management

The yield per mu of apples is related to management level, varieties and natural conditions. For example, the yield of apples in good years is about 5000 Jin per mu.

Temperature management: Apple likes warm environment, and the average annual temperature of its growth and development needs to be between 7 degrees and 14 degrees. Most apples are very cold-tolerant, and can tolerate the low temperature of about minus 30 degrees, but in order to obtain higher yield, good warm-keeping measures must be taken.

Fertilization management: Only fertilization can improve the fruit setting rate of apples. Base fertilizer can be applied, calcium carbonate can be applied to fruit trees during the fertilizer demand period, and compound fertilizer with balanced nutrition can be applied during the growth period to balance the proportion of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
