I have long heard that it is difficult to register and be hospitalized in Beijing hospitals. Seeing my daughter lying motionless on the hospital bed at such a young age, my sister was very worried. As I looked at the various treatment attempts at Tangshan Hospital, I felt uncertain, fearing that this disease would change the child's life. Despite all the difficulties, we have no choice but to go.

1 Little luck for the first time

Through relatives in Beijing, I registered the number of Beijing 301 Hospital on February 12th. On the morning of the 11th, my sister and brother-in-law took the baby to the hospital. The crane rushes to Beijing. After arriving in Beijing, I was anxious and went to Beijing 301 Hospital to try my luck. Unexpectedly, there was also an expert account for the day.

Register on the spot, and the diagnosis time will be around three o'clock in the afternoon. You are extremely lucky to have registered. It is difficult to register online for various reasons. It is very difficult to come to Beijing and register as an expert on the same day. At noon, when facing the orthopedic expert on display in the lobby on the first floor, we didn’t understand it at all. It looked like it was an expert number, so it must be him! The person who registered at that time was Dr. Dong Jiyuan. In the end, these doubts proved to be unnecessary. No matter whose number you call, the doctor will connect you to the doctor who is best at your condition. Doctors in big hospitals are trustworthy for their medical quality and ethics.

The afternoon medical visit went smoothly. Dr. Dong read the information we brought and directly recommended it to another doctor named Zhang. After reading the information, the doctor gave a clear treatment plan and recommended returning to the local area for treatment. No. 301 hospital has no relevant infectious disease department.

It is worth mentioning that the doctor will not write down the medical history when visiting the doctor, but will only speak orally. Therefore, when visiting the doctor, you must listen carefully and take notes. If possible, it is best to record. Because for patients, we are likely to forget what we have heard. In the end, only half of the content may be remembered, and a lot of information will be forgotten.

The 301 medical results are available, what’s the next step? Going back to Tangshan? I am also worried about the treatment level of Tangshan Hospital. What if my condition is delayed and I am paralyzed for life? Now that I'm here, why don't I go to Xiehe and try again to see if I can be hospitalized?

So, we took the little crane from the 310 Hospital directly to Union Hospital. To be honest, I didn’t have high hopes at the time. Because everyone knows how difficult it is to register for Union Medical College Hospital and how difficult it is to be hospitalized! What's more, we don't even have an advance reservation!

2 The second little luck

When we arrived at Xiehe, it was almost seven o'clock in the evening, and all the doctors on the day shift were off work. Let's go to the emergency room to try our luck. What if we can be hospitalized in the emergency room?

Then, we went to the emergency department of internal medicine. (Because it is basically confirmed that the child's sacroiliac bone has been infected) Even though it is an emergency, you still need to wait. There are still many people waiting for treatment. After waiting for about an hour, the number was finally called. The emergency doctor asked about the situation and said that the emergency department could only provide continuous infusion treatment and could not be contacted for hospitalization. If you want to be hospitalized, you need to register a general outpatient number. If you don’t want infusion, you can cancel the emergency number.

It seems that the hope of staying in the hospital in Beijing is very slim. This is what everyone thinks. Later, we returned to the hotel to rest. I am also planning on what to do next. Returning to Tangshan may be the only option! I bought a ticket back to Tangshan overnight. Planning to return the next day. However, I still wonder whether it will be cured when I go back.

My sister woke up at around three o'clock the next morning. The discussion started again, what to do? Just go back like this? After much deliberation, I decided to try my luck at Union Hospital to see if I could register? If you can register, go see him again and get a diagnosis. If the explanation is the same as the 301 Hospital, go back to Tangshan for treatment! I don't have any hope of being hospitalized.

So, at around five o'clock, my sister and brother-in-law went to Xiehe to register first, while Xiaoxianhe and I waited for news in the hotel. At about six o'clock, my sister called and said that she had been registered. She would be seeing a doctor at about eight o'clock and asked us to go there after dinner. This is second time lucky! Registration for online appointments must be made one week in advance. We were so reckless that we registered for the same day. We were very lucky.

Originally, we planned to have breakfast, but unfortunately there was no restaurant nearby. It was after six o'clock and breakfast was not open. Later, we took a taxi directly to Union Medical College Hospital and waited for treatment.

3 The third little luck

The doctors at Peking Union Medical College seem to be very professional. The consultation was very detailed and the small details of the treatment process were also asked clearly. The doctor asked if we could be hospitalized? Of course we could. The doctor gave us three examination orders and a hospitalization notice, asking us to make an appointment for examination as soon as possible.

Check appointments, one in the afternoon, one in the morning on the 13th, and one on the 28th. We plan to complete the inspection on the 13th and then decide whether to wait in Beijing or go home. Because of the hospitalization notice, the doctor said it depends on luck. With so many patients, there is no telling when they will be admitted.

Some days, some have to wait a month, they are all unknown. We can only wait for notification.

In this case, my tasks at that time were to wait for the test results and the notification of hospitalization, so I decided to go home first. Too many people can't help. I bought a train ticket home.

My sister and brother-in-law decided to finish the examination on the 13th and go home to wait for news. In Beijing, we can’t even afford food and accommodation. Another concern is that if the child's treatment is interrupted during the waiting period, will the child's condition worsen? This is also an unknown.

Third time luck strikes again! On the morning of the 13th, the inpatient department notified me that I would be admitted to the hospital. The admission procedures should be completed before 13:30 on the same day! Wow! All I can say is, so lucky! Unexpectedly smooth and fast! This is really a good thing that cannot be done with money, and we have caught up with it! So lucky, I can’t believe it!

After completing the examination and completing the hospitalization procedures, my brother-in-law will go back to Tangshan first to complete the procedures, and my sister can take care of the little crane alone.

Peking Union Medical College Hospital, online registration is difficult. We were admitted to a hospital where it was difficult to get admitted so quickly. Apart from being lucky, I don’t know what other words to use to express it!

I believe that the subsequent treatment will go very smoothly. In Xiehe, I can feel the professionalism and dedication of the doctors, which is really very different from local hospitals. Now, I just hope that the little crane will recover soon!

4 What I learned

1. You can refer to various information, but you cannot believe it all. No matter what it is, you can only know the real situation if you try it yourself. So, try more if you have the chance.

2. The overall medical level of large hospitals is really very high. The quality of doctors is very high.

3. Keep an eye on your goals and keep trying to achieve results. Don't trust what others say.

4. Health is king. If you have time, exercise more and make more money.
