Appreciation

(1) Knowledge background

There are two poems in "Farewell to Friends on a Spring Night" by Chen Ziang, this is the first one. It was probably made in the spring of the first year of Wu Zetian's Guangzhai year (654). At the age of 26, Chen Ziang left his hometown of Shehong, Sichuan, and rushed to Luoyang, the eastern capital, preparing to submit a letter to the court to seek fame. Before leaving, friends held a banquet to see him off. During the dinner, the friend's true feelings triggered the poetry in the author's chest. I immediately wrote this parting song.

(2) Poetry Appreciation

This rhymed poem begins with a sultry mood and a state of silence as the farewell party is about to end and the breakup is imminent. The author seizes the psychological state of this moment as the starting point of poetry, and enters the emotional climax directly but naturally, with quite deep feelings. "The silver candle spits out green smoke", with the word "vomit", it makes people imagine Li Ren's expression of being speechless and feeling lost, his eyes just staring at the green smoke of the silver candle in a trance. "Jin Zun Dui Qi Yan" uses the word "dui", which means that when facing Hua Yan, except for the frequent mention of Jin Zun to "advise you to drink another glass of wine", there is nothing to comfort each other. words. This realm is even more profound in silence.

The couplet "I miss the harp and harp when I leave the hall, and go around the mountains and rivers on the way out". "Qin harp" refers to the music of friends' banquets. It comes from "I have guests in "Xiaoya Lu Ming", which is The harmonious sound of string instruments is used to describe the meaning of deep friendship. "Mountains and Rivers" means that the road is far away, and it is in opposition to "Qin and Se". In contrast, it can't help but make people feel emotional: "Li Tang" hurts the separation of "Qin and Se"; "Separate Road" is far away, and hates " Surrounded by mountains and rivers. These two sentences deliberately express the lingering feelings of separation, which makes people sigh with emotion.

The neck couplet "The bright moon is hidden in the tall trees, and the long river does not see the dawn sky", which follows the above text and writes the arm to say goodbye, moving from indoor to outdoor. At this time, the tall trees covered the west-facing low moon; the long river was submerged in the dawn light. The word "hidden" and the word "无" here indicate that time urges people to leave, and does not stop for a moment to leave people. The inseparable moment has finally arrived.

The last two sentences are written as I watch my friends walking along this endless Luoyang ancient road, and I can’t help but feel that I don’t know when we will meet again. The last sentence contains the word "he", emphasizing the difficult time of reunion and revealing the hidden sadness between people leaving.

(3) Comment

In this poem, the author does not use sad sentences with long sighs and short sighs, but he can see deep and sincere feelings in the silence. To reach such a state, it should be tepid. "Fire" means too much sadness and shallow emotion; "warm" means lack of subtlety and deep emotion. This poem describes the emotions of parting and farewell in a calm and well-organized manner, like the clear tones on the strings of a pipa. The atmosphere is extremely graceful and graceful, with no mournful sounds but deep emotions.

"Silver candles spit out green smoke, and golden bottles match the feast." The first couplet uses antithesis, and the language is full of symmetrical beauty. It also makes the objects in front of you vivid and the beauty of color shows in the contrast. Silver candle, crystal white candle. Gold bottle describes the wine glass as luxurious and elegant. Qi Yan, a gorgeous banquet. This couplet is gorgeous, setting up the grand and lively scene of the banquet, and highlighting the depth of friendship.

Although the banquet was sumptuous, it was set up for farewell, so it inevitably cast an atmosphere of farewell, making the people present gradually feel melancholy and sad in addition to the laughter and laughter. The couplet "I miss the piano and harp when I leave the hall, and wind around the mountains and rivers on the parting way" follows the first couplet and introduces the theme of parting. This couplet is derived from the two lines of Xie Tiao's poem "Leaving the Night", "When leaving the hall, all the candles are gone, I leave the piano to mourn", but it appears to be more natural and profound than Xie's poem, and clearly expresses the here and now. The scene of farewell.

The third couplet "The bright moon is hidden in the tall trees, and the long river is hidden in the dawn sky" describes the scenery of the night sky. This is not a general description of the scene, but the expansion of the background and the passage of time to further reflect the feelings. There is no dawn in the long river, which means that the Milky Way disappears in the dawn. On the surface, this couplet seems to be dedicated to the night sky, but in fact it is closely related to the night banquet. The moon has disappeared behind the tall trees, and the Milky Way has also disappeared in the twilight, but the people have not dispersed, indicating that the two sides are inseparable, and time passes unknowingly. The length of the night banquet highlights the depth of the farewell. This This implicit technique of using scenery to set off feelings is more contagious than expressing feelings directly.
