Pruning method of big rose seedlings How to prune multi-head rose?
1, one branch and one type:

Many big-flowered Chinese roses are all one flower, and only one flower opens on each branch. The pruning of this kind of rose is relatively simple, and you can even cut off half the whole flower. Don't be reluctant to cut too much The closer the branches are to the roots, the bigger the leaves, and the easier it is for the big leaves to grow strong axillary buds, thus sprouting healthy branches.

When cutting, pay attention to the orientation of the bud point, cut it at 45 degrees above the big leaf 5 ~ 10 mm, and a new branch will grow at the root of the shortened petiole, and try to cut it above the leaf facing the outside of the plant, so that the sprouted new branch will grow to the outside of the plant, with better ventilation and sunshine, and will grow stronger.

2. Multi-headed roses:

Many varieties in Europe and Europe are multi-headed. There are several or even a dozen flower buds on a branch, but these flower buds don't necessarily open at the same time, but they usually open one after another. Therefore, the pruning of multi-headed roses should not be uniform, but should be gradual.

First, cut off almost all the flowers that have blossomed, leaving unopened buds for viewing, then cut them one by one until all the flowers on the whole branch bloom, and then cut back the branches above the big leaves.

The nutrients of a branch are limited. If you wait until all the flowers are in bloom before pruning, the buds behind will not open or even disappear because of insufficient nutrients. So it's best to cut a flower and leave the nutrients to other flowers below, so that each flower can bloom relatively standard.

When all the flowers on this branch are open and the flower pattern is slightly loose, you can refer to the pruning method of single head, cut the whole branch and put it in a bottle, or trim it to half of the whole branch, pay attention to the orientation of the bud point, and the bud point will soon grow a new flowering branch.

3, the whole plant pruning and shaping:

If you don't like a rose today and a rose tomorrow, you can prune the whole plant after flowering, that is, before all the flowers fail, prune all the flowering branches uniformly and try to trim them into a plane, thus eliminating the top advantage, and the newly grown branches will be more tidy and the flowering time will be relatively concentrated.

At the same time, blind branches, weak branches and inner branches can be pruned, which is beneficial to concentrate nutrition and grow new flowering branches. The rainy season is coming. In hot and humid weather, Chinese rose is prone to yellow leaves, black spots and pests. Pruning these ineffective branches can not only improve ventilation, but also effectively prevent pests and diseases.
