How to repair welding deformation of 3 mm thick steel plate
It is difficult to repair the welding deformation of steel plate, and prevention is the priority, that is, reasonable welding methods are adopted to prevent the deformation during welding.

1. Try to use symmetrical welding. For the work with symmetrical welds, it is best to weld symmetrically by two welders. In this way, the deformation caused by each weld can offset part of each other.

2. Step-by-step welding method This method is suitable for welding medium or thin plates. Its advantages are fast heat dissipation in the middle and reduced temperature difference at both ends of the weld. The temperature in the weld heat affected zone will not rise sharply, thus reducing or avoiding thermal expansion and deformation.

3. Alternating welding This welding method is basically the same as the skip welding method, except that the welding distance of each section is lengthened, which is especially suitable for thin plates and long welds.

4. The center symmetry method is suitable for short weld weldments. In order to reduce deformation, the center is divided into two ends and welded once.

5. Rigid fixation method Rigid fixation method is very effective in reducing deformation, and the welding sequence need not be considered too much. The disadvantage is that some large pieces are not easy to be fixed. After removing the fixation after welding, the weldment is still a little deformed and the residual stress is large. This method is suitable for welding thin-walled materials with thickness less than 6mm and good toughness.

6. Heat dissipation method The heat dissipation method is also called forced cooling method, that is, the heat at the weld is quickly dissipated, so that the metal heating surface near the weld is greatly reduced and the welding deformation is reduced.

7. Hammer welding method Hammer welding method, that is, tapping the weld with a small round hammer, can reduce welding deformation and stress.
