From May, Jasmine can flourish until 10.
In April, Xiao Linglong wrote about the operations such as picking leaves, shaping and pruning, smearing buds, and the first batch of "flowers follow the mother" after the jasmine blooms. Now in May, jasmine is about to usher in its official flowering period. The flowering period of jasmine is usually from June to September, and it can even last until the end of 10 if it is properly maintained. So how should we preserve jasmine during this time?
1, broken mother flower
Many of my friends' jasmine flowers were not reshaped in spring, so they directly sprouted new branches in April, and some just opened a few flowers sporadically. Xiao Jing said before that these flowers were watered by her mother's flowers, which were small and light in fragrance. It should be removed in time when pregnant. Don't waste nutrition because you are unwilling to give up, which will affect the quantity and quality of flowers in formal flowering period.
2. Lighting equipment
After shaping and pruning, jasmine flowers should be bathed in the sun all the time, and under the constant photosynthesis, they will sprout new buds, then grow new branches and differentiate into flower buds. At this time, the flowerpot should be rotated frequently, so that the jasmine can receive uniform light, so that the plant shape is symmetrical and the flower buds are uniform.
3. Water and fertilizer
Jasmine likes water and fat, but it is not what some sellers call "big water and big fat". Jasmine can be watered to keep the soil slightly moist. The so-called "wet mud, dry skin" means that when the skin of the basin soil is slightly white, it can be watered. If the basin soil is too wet for a long time, the roots will rot because they can't breathe smoothly.
Under normal maintenance, jasmine usually gives birth to flower buds in mid-May. When the buds grow to the size of soybeans, it is necessary to fertilize the jasmine. Generally, when the surface of the pot soil turns slightly white, the diluted fermented liquid fertilizer is poured around the pot for 2-3 times in the evening on a sunny day, so as not to be thoroughly poured, and then the "backwater" is poured with clear water once the next morning, so that the fertilizer can fully penetrate into the pot soil and be absorbed by the root system of jasmine. Fertilize once a week at first. The period from the Dragon Boat Festival to the Mid-Autumn Festival is the most prosperous time for jasmine, and bloom is constantly. At this time, the frequency of fertilization can be twice a week, but attention should be paid to "applying thin fertilizer" and it should not be too heavy, otherwise it will burn the roots. After flowering, fertilization needs to be stopped.
4. Prune after flowering
Generally, from late May to early June, the first batch of jasmine flowers will bloom, the second batch will be in August, and the third batch will be in September. At this time, in addition to keeping up with the light and fertilization, it is necessary to prune in time. Pruning is a very important link in jasmine conservation. Many flower friends often make a mistake that they don't want to prune, so jasmine not only wastes nutrition, but also looks very ugly.
When pruning, we should first remove the withered flowers of jasmine in time, and then cut 2-3 bud nodes from the top of the flower branches, which can promote the differentiation of the flower branches; In addition, the long branches will not breed buds, but will be thick and long, wasting nutrition. Cut it off in time, leaving only one or two buds. The cut long branches are good cutting materials. The rest of the diseased branches and branchlets are pruned at any time; If you have plastic surgery after flowering, you can trim it into a short shrub or a tall and strong flower tree according to your own preferences. There is no rule that you must cut a few paragraphs and leave a few paragraphs.
Step 5 cut
As mentioned above, the cut branches of jasmine can be used for cutting and propagating new jasmine, so this is the cutting of jasmine. First, cut the cut branches into two sections, remove the leaves at the lower bud node, and cut the leaves at the upper bud node in half to make cuttings. The purpose of this is to keep the leaves photosynthetic, and not to waste too much nutrients on the leaves.
Then, using the washed river sand as the substrate, insert the lower bud node of the cuttings into the river sand, keep it moist until it takes root, and then put it on the pot to make the jasmine alternate between old and new.
6. Pay attention after flowering
10 After the jasmine completely withered at the end of the year, it will soon be winter. Many flower lovers will prune or pick the leaves of jasmine at this time, thinking that this will help preserve nutrition for winter, but in fact it is just the opposite. Pruning or picking leaves of jasmine actually stimulates jasmine to germinate, and it is conceivable that jasmine germinates in winter. Therefore, the correct way is not to prune jasmine before winter, and then pick leaves for pruning after the temperature gradually stabilizes around Qingming next year. See Xiao Jing's article here in April for detailed operation.
The above is the maintenance during the jasmine period. If properly maintained, jasmine flowers will flourish. After the Mid-Autumn Festival, it blooms until the end of 10. I hope to give you a reference. Of course, due to climate differences, the flowering period may be slightly different. Due to the limited level, there are inevitably omissions in the article.
