As can be seen from this question, the boss has two assumptions before starting a business:
Hypothesis 1: As soon as the store opens, people will come, make a deal and make money.
What I want to say is that it's only been a week since I opened the store. Isn't it normal for business to be bleak? It is acceptable for a small individual, without any popularity and reputation, and the boss has no experience.
Hypothesis 2: No one starts a business, so there is no one behind, so there is no hope.
What I want to say is that starting a business is not that easy. Opening a shop is not easy to succeed. There are many problems that will not be solved automatically. Instead, the boss needs to find out the problems in time, find out the reasons, analyze the countermeasures, constantly try to adjust and finally solve the problems. Hope is always there, just not so easy to see.
I wanted to talk to the boss about the possible reasons and how to make a solution, but later I felt it was unnecessary because the biggest problem in his shop was the boss himself.
From his complaints, we can see that the boss has two very important problems:
First, the mentality of quick success, quick success is easy to pursue short-term interests, the more you want to make money, the less you can make money in the end. I often hear a distress: I opened it today and didn't make any money. I don't understand how to make money by starting a business. The goal of starting a business is to make people feel welcome and let as many people as possible experience what you think is good.
I often tell my boss to set a loss target during the opening period. Within the target range, the more losses, the better, because the more losses, the more people will experience your products and services, and the more customers we will leave behind.
The second is the lack of faith. Entrepreneurship can't persist without faith, because new problems appear every day, and no one will solve them unless you solve them. What is faith? I believe I can do something, no matter what the conditions are, no matter how difficult it is, no matter how hard I try.
Speaking of faith, I always unconsciously think that Li Shufu, the boss of my old boss Geely Automobile, managed to find a way out bit by bit and realized his car dream under such difficult circumstances. Some time ago, Liu Chuanzhi also said that he was wrong about Li Shufu. At that time, Li Shufu was actually very successful, but he was still not optimistic. It is conceivable that basically no one supported him before he succeeded, only he went to the government and said, please give me a chance to fail.
As mentioned above, I want to say it again, the spiritual pillar of Geely Automobile:
Determine a direction, strengthen a belief, unite a force, refine a spirit and complete a mission.
This is the spirit of Li Shufu along the way and later became the creed of Geely Company.
In my idea of opening a shop, product and operation mode are the necessary conditions for opening a shop, assuming that the boss is good, but actually more important than these two factors is the helm, and the boss is the most important and key factor for opening a shop, because all other factors can be changed by the boss, products can be improved, models can be adjusted, posts cannot be increased, and publicity cannot be outsourced. . . As long as the boss wants to do, he can do many things.
So, what I want to say is: Are you the source of all the problems?
