The school's predecessor was Wuchang Fine Arts School, which was founded by Jiang Lanpu, Tang Yijing and Xu Ziyan at 1920. 1923, a professional undergraduate course was added, and the school was renamed Wuchang Academy of Fine Arts. 1930 added music and changed its name to private Wuchang Art College (referred to as Wuchang Art College).
School profile
The school has two campuses, Qianlong Island and Tanhualin, covering an area of more than 470,000 square meters, of which Tanhualin Campus is nearly 60,000 square meters and Qianlong Island Campus is 4 1 10,000 square meters. At present, there are more than 600 on-the-job teaching staff and more than 7,600 students at all levels.
The school has 15 undergraduate teaching units, 25 undergraduate majors and 34 professional directions, covering 8 professional categories such as art, design, art theory, drama, film and television, education, business administration, machinery and architecture.
It has formed a discipline layout with liberal arts as the mainstay and education, engineering and management disciplines supporting each other. The master's degree authorization points of the three first-level disciplines of fine arts, design and art theory are all key disciplines in Hubei Province.
