What are the breeding methods and pruning precautions of rubber trees?
First, the selection of flowerpots for rubber tree cultivation

(1) flowerpot quality requirements: clay pots, plastic pots, porcelain pots and pottery pots can all be used for cultivation.

(2) flowerpot size: Rubber trees can be planted in pots with a diameter of 20-30 cm.

Second, the preparation of pot soil for rubber tree cultivation

Rubber trees like fertile and loose sand. The culture soil can be mixed with 1/3 humus soil, garden soil and river sand, and a small amount of cake fertilizer can be applied as base fertilizer. It is advisable to change pots every other year at seedling stage.

Watering method for cultivating scattered rubber trees

Rubber trees like wet water, avoid waterlogging and are not drought-tolerant. In spring and autumn, the basin soil should be kept moist, and water should be sprayed on its leaves and surroundings frequently to increase the air humidity.

In summer, rubber trees need a lot of water, and they need to be watered every day to keep the soil moist and increase the number of sprinklers. When the winter temperature is low, it is better to wet the basin soil, but if the winter temperature is around 10℃, the basin soil should be kept moist, and it is easy to shed leaves when it is dry.

Third, pruning method

1, coring: this pruning method should be carried out when it grows to 30-50cm, that is, cutting off the top buds and branches. This is done to help the growth of lateral branches and to control their growth height.

2. Bud smearing: When its buds grow out, they need to be pruned to make nutrients more concentrated on its main branches.

3. Re-cutting: It is usually carried out in winter, that is, a large degree of pruning. When pruning, cut off the thick branches and leaves that turn yellow. Pruning weak branches is lighter, but pruning strong branches can be a little heavier.

Extended data

Matters needing attention

The optimum growth temperature of rubber tree is 25 ~ 30℃. When it is below 3℃ in winter, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off. Therefore, it should be placed in a sunny place indoors in winter, and the room temperature should be above 10℃. When the temperature exceeds 35℃ in summer, plants should be moved to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and sprayed with water to cool down in time.

Rubber tree is a Moraceae plant, and the whole plant contains milk. Therefore, charcoal powder should be applied immediately after each pruning to avoid excessive juice outflow and dehydration death.

The direction of the pot should be changed regularly at the seedling stage of rubber tree to prevent the plant from growing to one side, resulting in small and straight plant shape and affecting the appearance.
