The only subject he liked was languages, which he learned

very well. TOSHI adapted very well to the high school environment and got a high score of 90. He plans to go to college after high school and become a doctor.

YOSHIKI’s interest in music has become even stronger. He began to write songs and accompany TOSHI on drums or piano.

He taught himself music theory, drumming, guitar, piano, and composition. He established a band with TOSHI and began to gain a certain reputation in

school.

On May 2, 1998, at about 7 o'clock in the morning, HIDE hanged himself. HIDE's real name is Matsumoto Hideto, 33 years old.

He is the guitarist of the disbanded X-JAPAN. His suicide remains a mystery to everyone. There were no traces of drugs other than alcohol in his system, and there was no investigation into his death. There was no suicide note explaining why, and his music and

life prospects were very good. He had joined a new band and was about to release two new singles that month. YOSHIKI was shocked by the news of HIDE's death.

The day after HIDE committed suicide, he returned to Japan from Los Angeles alone, without a companion or bodyguard to take his place. He went directly to the most famous temple in Tokyo to mourn with Hide's parents. He stayed there from one o'clock to eleven o'clock at night.

At HIDE’s funeral on the 7th, more than 80,000 fans lined up outside the temple and left more than 2 million flowers. YOSHIKI and TOSHI performed FOREVER LOVE, one of X-JAPAN's most famous love songs.
