Precautions after plastic surgery

1. Liquid food is required for intraoral incision surgery

If you have had a mandibular augmentation surgery with prosthesis implantation, you need to eat liquid food before surgery. Preparation for gargling with anti-inflammatory drops and the need for elastic sleeve fixation after surgery require a liquid diet, and a light liquid diet. If compliance is difficult, the surgery can be postponed. The oral cavity is a bacterial environment. If not properly taken care of, dehiscence and infection of intraoral incisions may occur.

2. Smoking is strictly prohibited during the surgery

Smoking, including second-hand smoke, must be strictly prohibited after plastic surgery.

3. Do not take Chinese patent medicines that promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis

Cosmetic surgeries involve relatively small incisions, but the range of peeling and treatment is not small, just like double eyelid surgery. The incision is only 3-5mm, but the excess orbicularis oculi muscle and orbital fat can still be treated, and bipolar electrocoagulation will be used to stop bleeding, so the swelling is slight and the recovery period is short. However, if you take blood-activating drugs before and after surgery, it will easily cause the wound that has stopped bleeding to bleed again, or even cause local hematoma, which will prolong the recovery period and even affect the effect of the surgery. Common blood-activating Chinese patent medicines include angelica, chuanxiong, safflower, etc., as well as aspirin, warfarin and other Western medicines that dilate blood vessels. Drinking alcohol will also dilate blood vessels and speed up blood circulation. It is better to drink less. Generally speaking, the above medications need to be stopped about a week before surgery.

4. Eat less spicy food and seafood after injectable micro-plastic surgery

Everyone’s body is different. Some people may eat the same food after micro-plastic surgery without any swelling. I haven't seen any allergies, but once they appear, it's too late. The human body will have varying degrees of allergic reactions to many large molecular proteins and heterogeneous proteins, with different manifestations and reactions, ranging from discomfort to severe redness, itching, and rashes. Although there are no incisions in micro plastic surgery, the range of injections is wider. Most of the injected materials are foreign substances. Even if a skin test is performed, idiopathic allergic reactions may occur.

5. Eat less nuts and other hard foods that require hard chewing.

Excessive force will cause the incision to crack and the wound to bleed. This is a taboo!

6. It is forbidden to eat photosensitive foods after various laser and intense pulsed light surgeries

The so-called photosensitive foods mean that some photosensitive substances enter the body after eating them. Photosensitivity reactions occur after the skin is exposed to various types of light, with redness, swelling, rashes, discoloration and other phenomena appearing in exposed parts, especially the face. Common photosensitive foods include: celery, coriander, fennel, lemon, mango, pineapple, etc. Be careful after all kinds of laser and intense pulsed light treatments! During the incision healing period after surgery, you should also protect yourself from the sun and eat less of the above foods to prevent discoloration.
