But he met a big problem in his later years-childless.

It's like a big joke between God and Pan Zuyin. He saved a lifetime of "museums", but no one inherited them.

At that time, the descendants of the Pan Shi family died young. Before Pan Zuyin's death, his descendants were only Pan Da, the wife of Sun Zipan who had just passed the door for three months.

Pan Dayu was only 18 years old at that time.

Two years later, Pan Zunian also died, leaving only one woman. Before he died, Pan Zunian took Pan Dayu's hand and only said: You must take good care of these treasures and don't show them to others casually.

So the question is, how much is Pan Zuyin's legacy?

After Pan Zuyin's death, his younger brother went to Beijing to dispose of his property and prepared to transport the collection back to his hometown in Suzhou for safekeeping.

At that time, bronzes and calligraphy and painting classics were fully loaded with four ships, including the famous national treasure, Da Keding and Da Yuding. Many years later, Ma Chengyuan, the former curator of Shanghai Museum and an expert in bronze ware research, once said to Pan Jia that "your bronze ware collection is second only to the Forbidden City".

Pan Shi family is the largest treasure family in China, especially the two famous Baoding, which are the dream of collectors at home and abroad. Now that there are no men at home, they are targeted by passers-by.

The most nerve-racking thing about Pan Da's daily "affairs" is dealing with all kinds of people, some of whom are bought with money and some of whom are directly derailed. There are too many stories in it.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Duan Fang, a powerful minister, tried to pester the Pan Shi family and wanted to "borrow" two Baoding. Fortunately, when the Revolution of 1911 broke out, the Qing government collapsed in the midst of internal troubles and foreign invasion, and Duan Fang became a decapitated ghost.

Later, it was said that an American loved Chinese bronzes and traveled across the ocean to learn about the Pan Shi family. He offered to exchange a large sum of money and a foreign building for two cauldrons, but he was flatly rejected.

In the mid-1930s, when the Kuomintang was in Gai Lou, Suzhou, it said that it would hold an exhibition and let the Pan family bring two Ding people to the exhibition. Pan Da realized that it might be a scam and declined politely.

Then the situation became more and more serious. 1937, the Japanese invaders entered Suzhou, and Suzhou people fled outside the city. Pan Da took refuge in Taihu Lake with his family.

I kept thinking about the two cauldrons when I went out, so I turned back.

1937 Mid-Autumn Festival is the darkest. At that time, it was during the Battle of Songhu. Japanese planes blew up the power plant in Suzhou, and there was no light in Suzhou.

Pan Da can only make use of the faint moonlight leaking into the house. With the help of two relatives and two carpenters at home, he dug a big hole in the back room, carried the built wooden box in, put the two cauldrons in, put them in the pit, paved them with square bricks, and carefully spread the excavated broken slag into the yard without leaving any trace.

Sure enough, after the fall of Suzhou, Japanese soldiers broke into Pan's house for seven times and stole countless possessions, but they turned Pan's house upside down, but they couldn't find these two China treasures.

Seven years later, the wooden box buried in the ground rotted and a big hole collapsed on the ground. Pan Da made a bold arrangement. She moved the cauldron out again and put it in the back room, with rags, shoes and empty bottles piled on it. Even if someone passes by and sees this shabby place, they won't pay attention to it.

In this way, Panda used various efforts and wit to protect the cultural relics of Pan Shi family and the two cauldrons of China, and escaped the most difficult days of China cultural relics.

At 195 1, the cultural department of the political commissar of Shanghai East China Military Region received such a letter:

"The two cauldrons stolen from Ke Yu are important national cultural relics, so it is urgent to store them in a safe place to ensure their permanence ... We sincerely hope to present most of them to the museum collection exhibition prepared by the Shanghai Cultural Relics Management Committee, so as to obtain national cultural relics in important areas of the country for ordinary audiences to watch and study."

The newly established Shanghai Cultural Relics Management Committee was overjoyed by the reappearance of two Baoding, which have been mysteriously missing for more than 60 years. On that day, the experts surrounded the two cauldrons with excitement, and their expressions conveyed excitement. Pan Da is crying silently.

Shanghai Cultural Relics Management Committee awarded Pan 20 million yuan (ancient coins) and a certificate. The certificate says:

"Pan Da's collection of Ding He in the Zhou Dynasty is a famous historical instrument of the motherland. For 60 years, they survived repeated wars and fires, and now they are donated to the government and made public. They cherish the national cultural heritage and carry forward the spirit of new patriotism, which is commendable. "

She didn't ask for a penny, but she left a certificate and hung it on the bed for 50 years.

She replied indifferently, just put it here. First, safety. This museum is well preserved. Second, everyone can watch it. It is multivalued.

In fact, we should know that there was no law to restrict cultural relics trading at that time. If these treasures are sold casually, they will be enough to feed Pan Jiafu for generations.

During the period of 1959, the State Council seconded Da Ding Yu to the Chinese History Museum, which is now the National Museum. Big Ding Yu and Ducktin were separated.

Pan Da can often see cauldrons in Shanghai Museum, but she can't see cauldrons, so she has always had a wish that these two cauldrons, like two sisters, will have a chance to meet again.

She kept this wish in her mind for more than 50 years and didn't say it until 2004.

At that time, Xu Yongxiang, director of the diaspora cultural relics management office of Shanghai Cultural Management Council, immediately discussed with the Chinese History Museum, submitted it to National Cultural Heritage Administration for approval, and adopted strict security measures to transport the cauldron to Shanghai.

On her100th birthday, Shanghai Museum held a special exhibition specially for her.

100-year-old Pan Dayu was lifted from her wheelchair by her daughter and turned around the booth. In Suzhou words:

"It's really great. It hasn't changed at all. I found them a good family. "

After donating Da Yu Ding and Da Dingke, she donated 99 pieces of calligraphy and painting to the country at 1956, and at 1957 and 1959, she donated 150 pieces of calligraphy and painting and16/kloc-0 respectively.

Think about her experience, maybe she just promised to protect them at first, but later, these cultural relics are really like their families. From 1937, she took out 1000 and took photos of 380 bronzes at home for filing. Maybe she took these 380 bronzes as her 380 daughters.
