The sacrifices offered here are given to the poor or taken away after the sacrifice, commonly known as "robbing orphans." The activity will be held after the "release", when the staff will scatter the offerings that can be thrown under the solitary shed and let the villagers grab them. Some sacrifices that can't be thrown out are distributed with bamboo sticks, and those who grab bamboo sticks will get corresponding sacrifices. In the process of "robbing orphans", people under the shed are enthusiastic, and some people have specially prepared "solitary support" (tied to the end of bamboo poles with nets) to cover the food left on the solitary shed, while those who come by are in a hurry, unable to see anything, and even "put down flour and peaches to grab cakes".

There is a legend about the origin of Yulan Congregation: Mulian, a Buddhist monk, fell into the Hungry Ghost Road after his mother died, and his eyes gave him food, but when the food entered her mouth, it turned into fire. The Buddha gave him a set of "Yulan Benjing", saying that by reading it, he could attract immortals from all directions and save his mother together.
