China people first felt the charm of modern hot air balloon in 1982. Marcand Forbes, then president of Forbes, and Steve Forbes (now president of Forbes), through the active coordination of Dr. Hammer, completed the "Yan 'an-Beijing" motorcycle trip and the "Sino-US Friendship" hot air balloon flight along the way.
1983 China aviation association sent people to the United States to learn hot air balloon driving technology; 1985, China produced its own hot air balloon and began to send contestants abroad to participate in the hot air balloon championship. After more than 20 years of development, the level of hot air ballooning in China has been greatly improved, especially in the last two years. With the implementation of the general aviation flight control regulations in May 2003 1 China, air sports, especially the hot air balloon movement, has developed more rapidly, and various hot air balloon events and performances in various provinces and cities in China are increasing day by day. At present, there are about 200 hot air balloons in China, with more than 200 balloonist.
