Except for river valleys and narrow Pingchuan, most of the county is low mountains and hills, which is known as "eight mountains, one water and one field". The remaining Yanshan vein extends obliquely from northwest to southeast in this county, forming a terrain with high northwest and low southeast.

There are mainly veins such as Yanshan Mountains in the territory, and the seven-and-nine-stretch heaped-up mountains in the eastern county become the dividing line between the county and Harqin Banner in Inner Mongolia. The highest peak is located in Aobao Mountain at the junction of Weichang County in the north, with an altitude of 1852 meters.
