Pingjiang lantern repertoire
There are more than 100 traditional plays. Most of the early dramas were created by artists, which reflected rural life and had a strong local flavor. Although there are emperors and generals in some plays, they are also the targets of ridicule in farmers' imagination, so there are many comedies and farce, which are vivid and funny and full of the characteristics of Han folk literature. Artists call it "forty-eight wai". At the end of the Qing Dynasty, artists began to transplant local operas or shadow play, ending the history of "Wild Taiwan Opera" and "Caotai Opera", involving all aspects of social life, and the repertoire increased to "72 to 120". After the founding of the People's Republic of China, China edited and adapted traditional dramas "Haunted House" and "Lin Sanshou Flower" and modern dramas "Keppel's Back Door", "Window-dressing" and "Watching Lights", which won prizes in provincial amateur art performances or were published by drama magazines.
