Characteristics of Snake Plate Rabbit Cuisine
"A rabbit with a snake dish will be rich", a proverb widely circulated in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Gansu, seems to be not limited to blessing men and women's marriage, and its auspicious significance in folklore is extensive. The paper-cut pattern of "snake rabbit" is often used in the funeral custom in Luliang area of Shanxi Province. As for decorating the new house with the pattern of "snake rabbit" in wedding etiquette, it is naturally not limited to the marriage of men and women who belong to the snake rabbit.

Similar proverbs, such as "happy pearl pomegranate snake rabbit, wealth will make you rich" and "snake rabbit is rich", seem to be not limited to the scope of marriage. In the past, when talking about marriage, people paid attention to the theory that the animals of the zodiac were born together. There are taboos that are not suitable for each other, and there are also the best groups. For example, "green rabbits and yellow dogs have existed since ancient times, and their wealth is full of Beidou", "red snakes and white monkeys are full of red, and their longevity is full of Kangding" and so on. The question is why there are no paper-cut patterns such as "dog around rabbit" and "snake-dish monkey", but why do you love "snake-dish rabbit"? One view is that:

In primitive society, it is said that the tribe symbolized by snakes and the tribe symbolized by rabbits clashed and killed each other. Fortunately, the two wise chiefs took pity on the living beings, achieved peace through negotiations, and merged into one tribe, prospering and becoming strong. Since then, "snake and rabbit are one" has become a much-told story, and a proverb "snake and rabbit will be rich" has been compiled and spread to this day as a symbol of the happiness of men and women in marriage. (See the special issue of "Fushan Paper-cut Famous for Three Jin Dynasties" edited by Shanxi Art Museum,1May 23, 986)

It seems natural to introduce "snake rabbit" into totem theory. People who used snakes as totems were often described in ancient times, but people who used rabbits as totems were not found in China.

In Ye Sheng's Diary of Water Cave in Ming Dynasty (Volume II), there is a saying that there is a snake rabbit buried underground;

"To the north of Juyong, the common choice of burial place is to take an examination of snakes and rabbits, and so is the headstrong mother of Changping Hou Yang Hongchi. If you are interested, the atmosphere is warm and everything is caves. Even if the phase value is at loggerheads, it is appropriate to listen. Ignorant people went to the ground to steal and bury, and they sued for many years, which is puzzling. "

In Mr. Feng Shui's consciousness, the "snake rabbit" was originally intended to discuss the terrain trend of the cemetery, just like the formula of "the dragon wraps the tiger, leaving the civil and military"; However, it is never possible for a dragon to be wrapped in a tiger, but a snake rabbit can be seen occasionally in the fields, just like the place where cattle sleep in Feng Shui, which undoubtedly adds persuasiveness to the theory of snake rabbit. So this matter spread like wildfire, because it was related to the zodiac, and it extended to marriage. As for the relationship between this theory and age, it is also because of the similarity of classes, which is not puzzling. Snakes generally feed on small animals such as mice and frogs. It is accidental that the rabbit ran so fast that it was trapped by the snake. People will have a good omen when they are surprised at this situation. This is human nature, which is the mass psychological basis of the proverb "A rabbit with a snake plate makes every family rich" which is widely popular in some areas. Paper-cutting enthusiasts who may be familiar with Shaanxi and Shanxi folk customs have heard a folk proverb, that is, "a snake dish rabbit will be rewarded." I won't elaborate on why there is such a proverb here, but if we can see the pattern of snake and rabbit in paper-cut patterns or paper-cut materials, it fully shows that this paper-cut is a work full of auspicious meanings. Although you can often see the paper-cut of the snake-dish rabbit when the couple get together, it doesn't mean that it is the special theme of the wedding ceremony. As can be seen from this paper-cut pattern of the snake-dish rabbit wedding, the creator skillfully integrated the snake and the rabbit, and blended the happy characters where the rabbit and the snake were coiled. It can be said that this design is full of interest, and it also makes the whole paper-cut work more complete and full. It is this design that skillfully expresses the meaning of the snake-dish rabbit.

1. Preparation before paper cutting. Before paper-cutting, you need to prepare several pieces of single-sided colored paper, fold these single-sided colored papers for paper-cutting and fix them with a stapler.

2. Tracing, because the patterns used in this paper-cutting course are finished products, and there are shadows in some places. After computer drawing, we should pay attention to the distinction of contours when cutting.

3. Paper-cutting and carving. In the process of paper-cutting, the outline should be cut first. However, because there are many patterns in this paper-cut, especially on the snake, it is not complicated and has certain regularity. If you don't want to use lettering, you can directly cut it locally.

I want to tell you the legend of the snake rabbit, a story about good luck and happiness. This story is told by those who pursue happiness:

Long ago, there were twelve kinds of animals in the world: mice, cows, tigers, dragons, horses, sheep, monkeys, chickens, dogs, pigs, a lovely and naive rabbit and a snake.

Animals attend the rabbit's party. They surrounded the beautiful rabbit, praising her and pleasing her. The snake lurked in the corner and no one paid attention to it.

Snakes like rabbits He wanted to pester the rabbit and express his love to her, but he was afraid of scaring the happy elf.

The rabbit finally found the snake in the corner. The snake stared at her with eyes the rabbit had never seen before. The rabbit once invited the snake to dance, but the snake refused her. The rabbit was very sad and cried sadly.

Animals come to comfort rabbits. And the snake, still entrenched in the corner.

Rabbit thought: Why did the snake do this to me?

At this time, the rabbit was covered with snakes, and there were only snakes in his heart.

When the rabbit stopped crying, the animals dispersed separately, leaving only the lovely rabbit and the hateful snake.

The snake crawled over and entangled the rabbit. He asked the rabbit, "Do you hate me?"

Rabbits ignore snakes.

The snake asked again, "shall I pester you?"

Rabbits ignore snakes.

The snake said, "We can stay together like this forever, or we can go separately."

The rabbit said, "I go left and you go right!" " "

The snake said to the rabbit, "If we run counter to each other, we will meet again, because the earth is round." Then the snake let go of the rabbit and crawled away alone.

The rabbit's tears finally came out: "Don't leave me!" " "Then the snake entangled the rabbit again. The snake's eyes are full of tenderness and impulse.

They are in love.

After two years, their sweetness began to fade. Run for your life, leave the rabbit and snake, and restore the coldness and cruelty of the past. The rabbit felt very lonely when the snake left.

The distance between the snake and the rabbit is getting farther and farther, and the rabbit begins to miss the feeling of being surrounded by everyone.

The tenderness of the snake and the yearning for the rabbit are hidden in my heart. The harsh environment makes snakes become more and more silent. The rabbit thinks the snake doesn't love her anymore.

Finally, in a snake trap, the rabbit fell into the dog's arms. The rabbit decided to leave the snake.

The snake is back. He was sad without the rabbit.

The snake's heart is actually very fragile, so the snake returned to the corner.

However, the snake misses the rabbit every day. Finally, one day, it entangled the rabbit. But the rabbit is no longer the naive and happy rabbit.

The snake gradually despaired, only tears were hot.

The rabbit said, "Go!"

The snake is still recovering: "Don't you need me to pester you?"

The rabbit said, "We are too far away."

Snakes are speechless. When he saw the rabbit, his eyes were full of sadness.

Once again, the snake entangled the rabbit tightly. "Remember this hug!" "

The rabbit said, "I'll remember!" " "She broke free from the snake and finally disappeared.

The snake left in disappointment. After he left, I didn't know that the rabbit had returned to the place where it broke up, staring at the direction in which the snake disappeared.

The rabbit found that she still likes snakes. "Why don't you keep me?"

Since then, snakes have never entangled with anyone, but have become vicious and have fangs. Hunting is no longer entangled, but killing with fangs. Animals hate snakes even more. Everyone calls them "poisonous snakes".

Rabbits can no longer find the happiness of being entangled in snakes. She began to understand that happiness is like being entangled in a snake.

Thousands of years passed, and then the world became very vast, and the name of this land became China. Smart China people also feel sorry for this past, so that in the later Chinese civilization, the "snake rabbit" has always been a symbol of good luck, and people are looking forward to happiness not being missed by themselves. "Snake rabbit" is a necessary food for Qingming cold food in Shanxi with a history of 2,500 years. The origin of "snake rabbit" is also related to meson push. In ancient times, the Emperor of Heaven was compared to a dragon, and the five important ministers who assisted Jin Wengong were compared to "five snakes", and meson Tui was one of them. Mianshan has always had a story about the rabbit god and the deer body. According to legend, during the Spring and Autumn Period, Jin Xiangong, the monarch of the State of Jin, had five sons, namely, Yi Wu, Qi and Zhuo Zi. Shen Sheng was born to the first lady of Jin Xiangong and was made a prince. Jin Xiangong's stepmother, Li Ji, conspired to kill Prince Shen Sheng in order to make her son a beautiful prince. In order to avoid the persecution of stepmother Li Ji, sons Zhong Er and Yi Wu fled abroad respectively. Jie Zhitui (also known as Jie Zhitui), a sage of Jin State, lived alone with Zhong Er and went through hardships. One year, Zhong Er was seriously ill in exile. Poverty and illness made him very poor. In order to supplement nutrition for Zhong Er, who was seriously ill and weak, Jiezitui cut off the meat on his leg and cooked it into broth for Zhong Er to eat, which restored his health. After Jin Xiangong's death, his sons competed for the throne. Nineteen years later, with the help of Qin Guojun and Mu Gong, Zhong Er became the monarch of the State of Jin, defeating Gongziwai (half-brother) and becoming the monarch of the State of Jin, known as Jin Wengong in history. When Zhong Er became a monarch, he rewarded all those who followed him to death. However, only the mesons that were particularly helpful to him were forgotten. Jiezitui was very sad and determined never to see Zhong Er again. Carrying his elderly mother, he went to his hometown Mianshan (now southeast of Jiexiu County, Shanxi Province) to live in seclusion. Knowing that Dai was wronged, Jiezitui's men posted an anonymous post on the palace gate, which read: There is a dragon running west and fleeing east; A few snakes to help it succeed. Dragonflies fly to the sky, snakes get into holes; The other, wandering in the mountains. Jin Wengong saw an epiphany. He recalled that meson tui was loyal to himself during his exile abroad, and now he forgot to reward him as a monarch, which made him very upset. So, Zhong Er quickly sent someone to find meson push. Soon, a messenger reported that meson had been pushed to Mianshan to live in seclusion. Deeply ashamed, Jin Wengong personally took people to Mianshan to look for them, but meson tui avoided them. Jin Wengong knows that meson tui is a dutiful son. He set Mianshan on fire as suggested by others, leaving a way. He wants to use the fire in the forest to push the mother and son to avoid the fire. However, after burning for three days and nights, dozens of forests were burned to the ground, and there was still no meson pushing the mother and son. After the fire was put out, he found his mother and son holding a big tree in the village and burning it to death (the story text comes from historical allusions in Shanxi, only for their own study and use). In Tomb-Sweeping Day, in order to commemorate Jietui's loyalty and filial piety, people knead flour into the shape of "snake" and "rabbit". "Snake" stands for Jietui's mother, "Rabbit" stands for Jietui himself, and "Snake" and "Rabbit" are intertwined to show filial piety. Moreover, in the local dialect of Jiexiu, the homophony of "snake rabbit" and "be rich" has entrusted people with their yearning for a rich and beautiful life, which is an old saying that people have been chanting ever since.

In eastern Fujian, every household has to cook "black rice". It is made by soaking glutinous rice in washed and cooked black barnyard grass leaves and cooking. The color is dark, but it has the smell of rice and unique flavor. In addition, most places in eastern Fujian eat mustard rice, regardless of urban and rural areas. It is said that scabies can't grow all year round. In Quanzhou and southern Fujian, Qingming often eats moist cakes and vegetables, bakes them into thin skins with flour, and then participates in mixing pot dishes such as shredded carrots, shredded pork and fried coriander. This kind of food is diverse, with a combination of meat and vegetables. Both nutritious and delicious, there are Qingming cakes from Wenzhou people and pancakes from Chaoshan people.
