The history of Jiaochangping village, the northern Jiaochang of Huangshabao, Chenzhou, Hunan Province
Chenzhou, located at the crossroads of Wuling, has always been a battleground for military strategists. In history, Qin Shihuang's 500,000-strong army guarded the Wuling Mountains. Since the uprising of Yao and Han farmers in previous dynasties, Chenzhou has built some different types of defensive buildings in order to ensure local peace, namely castles, forts, cave castles, bunkers and stockades, which are rare in the whole province and even the whole country. Its fantastic conception, profound culture and the importance of site selection fully reflect the unparalleled wisdom of Chenzhou people. Huangshabao, built in the early Ming Dynasty, is a military fortress for stationing troops to defend. Covers an area of about 40000 square meters. There are four arches in the castle, and now there are three gates: east, south and north. It is said that it is "one and a half miles through the city and three miles around the city". Today, you can still see the majestic gesture of that year in Huangsha Castle: the castle walls are high, thick and dense, with traces of mules and horses, the broken walls are silent, and the cannon holes of the castle are vivid. Standing at the height of the castle, looking at the large and small vehicles shuttling between 107 national highways, you will have a feeling of touching the past and touching the present!
