According to historical records, ten wise men lived in Jixian Fort at the beginning of the Zhou Dynasty, and then gradually expanded to form a larger village, also known as the "hometown of ten wise men", with a temple of wise men as evidence. The names of these ten wise men are village owners, Zhou Tao, Su Daobiao, Yan Daotong, Wang Jian, Cheng, Zhang Facheng, Shi Daole and Zhou Huasheng.
Before liberation, the circumference of the old wall of Jixian Fort was 9.3 Li, and the new city was expanded, with a circumference of 15 Li. The wall is three feet high, three feet wide at the bottom and one foot wide at the top. There are four gates, east, west, north and south, and a small north gate. The southwest gate of the building has an inner gate and a runway. The Dongcheng gatehouse says "the ground wins the east" and the south gate says "the ground wins the east". There are 36 temples in the city, and the streets in the city are divided into 30 flags. The largest temple in the city is Gu Feng Temple, East Temple and West Temple, with Wang Yao Temple in the middle. This is the name of Wang Yao Temple in Jixian County, which is famous for dozens of miles. This is the most prosperous place in the castle, with all kinds of facade shops, food stalls and merchants gathering, which is a lively and extraordinary market scene.
Outside Jixian County, there are many places of interest, and there is a "Sister-in-law Tomb" in the east of the city, which is tall and majestic, also known as the ruins of Wuzuo Palace in Han Dynasty. There is a big oak tree in the south of the city, and the folk song is: the crown covers an area of five acres, and there are sages in Xiansi; There is also Xianqiao in the west of the city, and the river killing in the east of the city is shocking; There is a west temple in the north of the city, which has been called Shengshou Temple for generations.
Since ancient times, Jixian Fort has been inheriting a wild and rough folk custom-"fighting social fires in the first month". This activity, with the participation of the whole people, is full of enthusiasm and vitality. Whether it is cold wind or heavy snow, in the morning and evening, all the participants, from old people in their fifties and sixties to boys in their fifties and sixties, are naked, wearing only pants and running to each other's positions with firecrackers in their hands, shouting and shouting. It is really a state of heroism and high spirits, which is surprising. This traditional folk custom was rated as one of the most popular folk cultural activities in Guanzhong by the Qin Feng Folk Custom Film Team of the provincial TV station.
There is also a stone gate building in the northwest corner of the castle in the early Ming Dynasty, which is more than 50 feet high. The whole building is made of bluestone and white marble, with three floors, a doorway running through the north and south at the bottom, a cloak on the eaves and a stone cornerstone wall, all of which are integrated. There is a big plaque hanging upstairs to the south, which says "Xuan Di Pavilion". This stone building is the tallest building in the castle and a rare stone building in Guanzhong area. Unfortunately, it was demolished before the Cultural Revolution.
