In the fourth year of Zhenguan (AD 630), Xinning County moved its land to Luozhouba on the east bank of Furong River. In the eighth year of Song Jiayou (AD 1063), Xinning County in the province was a town like Pengshui County. During this period, Jiangkou was ruled by the county for 447 years. It was renamed as Xinning County in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and Jiangkou Town in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The town has set up a patrol department and a weapons information department. In the fourth year of Guangxu, Jiangkou Town was transformed into the hometown of love, and it was renamed Jiangkou Town in the twenty-fourth year of the Republic of China. 1953 was transferred to Wulong county, 1958 merged with Caijia people's commune, and 1992 was reorganized into Jiangkou town.
