Lighting design is a complicated artistic creation process, which uses color and light to perform and create a stage atmosphere. This process embodies the designer's artistic accomplishment and technical experience. Different performance contents and forms have different lighting designs, and there are almost no fixed methods and techniques. The following introduces several methods and skills of using stage color light in stage lighting technology.

First, use the same color light.

Homochromatic light refers to a group of colored lights with similar hue but different concentrations. For example, blue has medium blue, green blue, bright blue, light blue, sky blue and so on; Pink includes orange pink, bright pink, pink, light pink and so on.

Lighting design uses the same color light to create a lighting atmosphere, mainly using their differences in brightness and color perception to form a level of light and shade on the stage. If the stage uses bright pink lighting and the entrance side uses pink lighting, the lighting effect is mainly pink tone, with a certain difference between light and shade.

Furthermore, we can use the same color light to highlight the local performance area. In the performance area of medium blue light, we can use the side lights on both sides of the platform to project the local performance area, so that the local performance area will be highlighted due to the different brightness. According to different needs, other "blues" can also be used, such as bright blue light and sky blue light. In the part of lamps and lanterns, according to the scheduling of characters and the location of scenery, we can choose the changes of backlight, overpass lights on both sides and platform ceiling lights, so as to obtain different lighting effects.

Second, the use of contrast color light.

Contrast color light refers to the contrast between cold color light and warm color light. When in use, cold light and warm light are projected from different directions to the characters or scenery in the performance area. Due to the contrast and contrast of colored light, a relatively strong colored light effect can be obtained. In addition to setting off the atmosphere, it can also enhance the three-dimensional sense of people or scenery.

When using contrast color light, we should master the selection of different parts, such as front light and top projection light, front light and top reflection light, and back projection of streamers on both sides. Using the sidelights on both sides of the overpass, the performance area is projected symmetrically with red and green light. According to the required lighting effect, if the requirement is strong, the light can be medium blue light, if the requirement is subtle, the light can be sky blue or light blue light. This method of light distribution and color use can transform a variety of color lights, such as red and medium blue, orange and medium blue, pink and medium green. At the same time, we should master the relationship between the color, brightness and contrast color of the front light. If the front light and the top backlight use contrast light, the front of the stage uses sky blue light and the backlight uses pink light.

In this way, in the refreshing blue tone, the characters are inlaid with bright pink light. Using this method of light and color matching, the backlight has enough brightness to get the color effect of the backlight. When using the canopy, pay attention to the difference between the color of the backlight and the color of the canopy. If you use a dark background, you should pay attention to the direction and angle of the backlight beam, so as not to affect the harmony of the stage picture.

Third, use monochromatic light.

Monochromatic light refers to the colored light with only one color in the performance area, which is used to form the lighting atmosphere needed for the performance. According to the requirements of creation, you can choose cold light or warm light.

The biggest feature of using monochromatic light is that the colors of light are bright and will not fade or change each other. In the performance scheduling of drama and dance, sometimes a single color light is used to highlight a group of shapes that need to be expressed. For example, in theatrical performances, medium blue light or light green light is often used to express night or dawn.

In dance performance, monochromatic light is often used to contrast the strong lighting atmosphere of group dance, and with the changing mood and rhythm of dance, the performance atmosphere of the stage is strengthened. When using monochromatic lights, light and shade are generally not emphasized. If subtle differences between light and shade are required, various measures can be taken, such as turning on more lights on one side and less lights on the other; If the lights on both sides are the same, you can add yarn on the other side; You can also use the control system to slightly dim the brightness on one side.

Fourthly, the application of similar colored light.

The same color light refers to the same cold color light or the same warm color light.

Commonly used cool colors are medium blue, green blue, bright blue, brilliant blue, sky blue, light sky blue, dark green, medium green, light green, brilliant green, purple, lavender and violet. Warm colors include bright red, red, brilliant rose red, dark pink, brilliant pink, dark orange red, orange red, golden orange, golden amber, shallow coincidence queen, golden yellow, medium golden yellow and so on.

The feeling of moonlight at night can be formed by using medium blue as the basic color light and medium green on the next side. If you want to enhance the brightness of the front, you can change the front light to sky blue or light medium blue.

If the light amber in the warm color light is used as the basic color light and the red light is used on the door side, a relatively prosperous atmosphere can be formed.

When using colored light to create an atmosphere, we must master the relationship between the light and shadow effect of colored light and the position of lamps and lanterns and the brightness of colored light. The whole stage is covered with orange-red light, and in the later stage of the middle stage, the golden backlight is projected to the front of the stage. In this way, the backlight of the golden light on the characters in the performance area is very bright. If these two colors of light are partly interchanged, the backlight of orange light on the characters will be dim. Only by increasing the amount of orange-red light and strengthening the amount of light can we get more distinct backlight light and shadow.
