The difference between Madagascar agate and Gobi agate
The difference between Madagascar washed agate and Gobi agate is as follows:

Different places of origin: Madagascar washed agate is produced in Madagascar, the largest island country in Africa, located in the western Indian Ocean. The whole island is composed of volcanic rocks and is rich in mineral resources. Washed agate is mainly produced in rivers and beaches.

Gobi agate is mainly produced in the Gobi desert in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.

Different forms and occurrences 1. The washed agate was weathered and transported to the river where it was washed away. Generally, the roundness is round and pebble-shaped, and the size of the block is very different. There may be skins with different thicknesses outside. Most of the lights are red, and the skin transparency is good after polishing. Similar to pebbles in water and seeds of hetian jade, the surface is smooth and round. 2. Agate in Gobi is naturally stripped from primary ore deposits and transported to Gobi desert after weathering. Generally, it is far away from primary ore, with sub-angular shape, poor roundness and small fragmentation. There are traces of wind erosion on the surface, and there is no skin shell. The overall transparency is not as good as that of washed agate, and the colors are gorgeous and diverse, which is suitable for clever carving. The similarity between the two is that they are both made of silicon dioxide, and they all have the unique concentric ring stripe structure of agate.
