Inherit my father's wishes.
1909, Huo Yuanjia was killed by Japanese ronin in Shanghai, when Huo Dongge was only fifteen years old. He always knew that when his father was alive, he had the ambition to be a martial power. He was filled with grief and indignation, regarded family feud as national feud, and was determined to carry on his father's business and complete his unfinished business. So he and his uncle Huo resolutely went to Shanghai to support the sports meeting.
When Huo Yuanjia died, the Jason Wu Sports Association was only established for two months, and it was suddenly hit by this, and it was in danger of premature death. The visit of Huo Dongge and his uncle greatly encouraged the members of the association and enabled the organization to continue to exist. The members were amazed to see Huo Dongge's skill as a father, and the number of people practicing martial arts gradually increased, and the meeting became more and more popular.
19 19, when the Jason Wu Sports Association held the 10 anniversary celebration in Shanghai General Association, Dr. Sun Yat-sen personally presented the plaque of "Martial Spirit" as a recognition. He also made a long preface to the publication History of Wu Jing founded by Jason Wu, affirmed the achievements of Jason Wu Club and mentioned that "it has a lot to do with powerful countries"
Nanyang creativity
19 19, when Huo Dongge was 25 years old, he went to Guangzhou to teach at the invitation of Chen Gongzhe and Lu Weichang of Jason Wu Branch of Guangdong Province.
Huo Dongge's savings became more and more abundant, so he decided to expand Jason Wu sports in Nanyang. Huo's wife first went to Guangzhou with him. Being unaccustomed to life in the south, she misses her hometown, anxious to return, and expresses her reluctance to wander in Nanyang with Huo. Brother Huo Dong had no choice but to send his wife and children back to their hometown. Huo Dongge bid farewell to his hometown elders and returned to Guangzhou at the beginning of 1923.
Huo Dongge, Lu Weichang and Luo Xiaoao, two martial arts predecessors, came to Nanyang by boat from Hong Kong alone. 1June, 923 12, Huo Dongge arrived in Surabaya, Java. I started to stay with Chen Ying's family. With Chen's help, he contacted local overseas Chinese businessmen and lobbied for the importance of developing sports. The initial effect is not significant.
One day, the Chinese school in Surabaya raised money for the play and specially invited Huo Dongge to join in the fun. Huo was invited to perform a set of Huo family boxing on stage, which won a long applause, and then performing a set of drunken eight immortals was even more sensational. From then on, Huo Dongge became famous in Surabaya, and overseas Chinese schools invited him to teach. Because of his profound martial arts, good teaching and rapid progress, Huo Dongge's prestige in the local area is increasing day by day.
Huo Dongge went through hardships and spent more than a year, and finally established the Surabaya Jason Wu Games. Because the children of overseas Chinese practice martial arts, it is difficult for Huo Dongge to socialize alone, so he called his nephew Huo Shousong from Guangzhou to help. Brother Huo Dongge won a great victory and went out to publicize. Finally, in 19251February, she founded the Batavia Jason Wu Association. Later, Jason Wu branches were established in Dagang, Zhilikun, Semarang, Thoreau, Bandung and Beijialang.
Miss one's homeland
Huo Dongge went to Nanyang to establish Jason Wu and lived abroad for a long time until his death. In the meantime, he went back to his hometown twice to visit relatives.
The first time was in the autumn of 1926. After returning home, Huo Dongge first reported to Shanghai Wujing General Association for work, and then took a bus to the north and returned to Xiaonanhe, Tianjin.
Huo Dongge married another wife in Nanyang, a local overseas Chinese, surnamed Ye Mingyu. Because Ye had no children in the first few years after his marriage, Huo Dongge wanted to take his second son Huo away this time. I am afraid that my father is affectionate, my son is unintentional, and my mother is even more reluctant. Finally, she didn't do it.
1935 At the turn of spring and summer, Huo Dongge returned to China for the second time. He came back this time to realize a long-cherished wish-to set up the Jason Wu Sports Association in Tianjin. After coming to Tianjin, he rented a house facing the street in Dayingmen Central Cinema in District 1 and listed it as "Dongge Pharmacy", but it didn't officially open, just to have a place to stay. He met Mai Junjian, the headmaster of Guangdong Lvjin Middle School and the head of Guangdong concert, and got his support. He used the Guangdong concert (above the beautiful Sichuan restaurant near Quanyechang) to perform martial arts, introduced the development of Jason Wu Club in China and Nanyang, and mobilized his hometown compatriots to sponsor and join Jason Wu. At that time, there were Huo Dongfu, Huo Yating, Huo, Ye and others who participated in martial arts performances.
Although Huo Dongge's publicity activities have certain influence, no one is willing to come forward to sponsor, and Huo Dongge is very disappointed. Ye fell ill because of acclimatization and missed his relatives in Nanyang. At the same time, Jason Wu, general manager of Bacheng, quickly called him back. Besides, his brother Huo missed his son so much that he forced him to ask for Shousong and complained that he killed his nephew, which upset him. Therefore, Huo Dongge returned to Nanyang in February 1936 and never returned home again.
Anti Japanese sausage
After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, patriotic overseas Chinese living in Nanyang set off a vigorous anti-Japanese movement. They publicized everywhere, staged demonstrations, established organizations, and actively raised funds. Some of them gave up their industries and returned to China to join the anti-Japanese guerrillas. Huo Dongge and Huo Shousong's uncles, inspired by patriotic enthusiasm, actively participated in the national salvation movement in full swing. They led the members of Jason Wu, traveled all over the ports, performed charity performances and raised funds for War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. At the same time, they also do wonderful publicity to stimulate the patriotic enthusiasm of overseas Chinese and let more people lend a helping hand.
After the outbreak of the Pacific War, the Japanese invaders drove away the Dutch, occupied Java Island, and exercised cruel rule over the people living in Java Island. Huo Dongge was not afraid of strong enemies, but still held a charity performance and continued to contribute to the Anti-Japanese War. Unfortunately, while Batavia was collecting money, he was arrested by the Japanese gendarmerie and put into prison.
After Huo Dongge went to prison, he still insisted on fighting. His cellmate is a patriotic overseas Chinese named Lai Hanchuan, a musician, and they cooperated. Huo Dongge wrote lyrics, Lai Hanchuan composed music, taught prisoners to sing and denounced the barbaric acts of the invaders. According to Huo Dongge's second son Huo, after the national liberation, Lai Hanchuan returned to Beijing to work. Huo Dongge wrote from Nanyang, introduced Mr. Lai, and told him to come to Tianjin, warmly welcomed him and treated him well.
