-Interview with the famous recitation artist Kang Qiao
There is a very hot name on the internet recently. As long as you search for "Cambridge Recitation Works" on the video website, you can enjoy his sound painting MV works, wonderful poetry recitation and wonderful sound painting artistic conception, which are pleasing to the eye and amazing! Nearly 10,000 hits a day, in a quiet place where poetry reading is not popular and often forgotten, it is not easy! It is the recitation artist Mr. Cambridge who created this miracle. With many questions from netizens, a few days ago, the reporter interviewed Cambridge exclusively.
Reporter: Mr. Cambridge, have you ever thought of becoming an online celebrity one day?
Cambridge: No. I never wanted to be a celebrity in xx. I'm just doing what I like to do. I created the MV of ancient poetry, music and painting, purely out of a responsibility, without any utilitarian ideas.
Reporter: Before you, was there a MV of ancient poetry and music painting?
Cambridge: Hardly, at least not online. Recite only pure-tone music poems and add a cover at most.
Reporter: Your creative impulse is to fill this gap?
Cambridge: Not exactly. I like reading aloud. It's purely a personal hobby. I loved it when I was a student. With the idea of filling in the blanks, someone will do it sooner or later. If I don't do it, someone else will.
Reporter: Is it easy to do?
Cambridge: Not easy! Otherwise, someone would have done it.
Reporter: Where is the difficulty?
Cambridge: The difficulty lies in the collection of video materials and picture materials. Recitation is my strong point, and audio and video production is my major. The key is whether the scene picture can match the content of the poem. After all, my photography and video resources are limited, and most of them can only be collected from the Internet. Modern and present are easy to find, but ancient ones are hard to find. We can't let actors put on ancient costumes and perform in specific scenes like movies and TV series. Of course, if you have a big investment, you can do it, but after all, you can't do it now, you can only use limited resources to create. In this way, it is inevitable to leave a lot of regrets.
Reporter: Do you think audio-visual MV is more important for recitation or for pictures? Or both?
Cambridge: At present, recitation and music are the mainstay, and the picture can only be placed in the third place. Recitation of ancient poems is the core, and music and painting play an auxiliary role. The real kung fu lies in recitation, music plays the role of contrast and rendering, and the picture also serves the theme of recitation. As far as art appreciation is concerned, it may be better without pictures, because the existence of pictures limits people's imagination and the image produced is limited and imperfect. Just like listening to Dan Tianfang telling stories, everyone's imagination is different, and the characters who tell stories will be different. However, if storytelling is arranged in a TV series, the characters are all fixed, which will inevitably lead to different sense of identity.
Reporter: Since the picture is not so important, why do you want to shoot MV?
Cambridge: keep pace with the times and keep innovating in art! There are fewer and fewer people who like classical literature, so it is not easy for impetuous young people to get close to elegant and rigid ancient poems. Therefore, it is necessary to reprocess ancient poetry, adopt various forms of expression, incorporate fashionable cultural elements, plan and package it, enhance its appreciation and appeal, attract and stimulate people's interests and hobbies, and let excellent traditional culture carry forward!
Reporter: Now it seems that your efforts are effective. Are you happy?
Cambridge: I'm glad! I didn't expect such a big response. Every day, netizens post or send short messages, indicating that they like my works. I am very happy! Take this opportunity to thank the netizens for their support and love! Actually, I hope to hear more opinions and suggestions about my work.
Reporter: What are your plans for the future?
Cambridge: Continue to create, strive to launch more audio-visual MV works, and focus on creating 300 Tang poems and 100 Song poems. Collect and publish published MV audio-visual products of ancient poetry. At the same time, the hardware facilities of Cambridge Studio will be updated, the creative team will be strengthened, and the Cambridge version of MV works will enter thousands of households.
Reporter: Mr. Cambridge, in your works, you often see a girl named Yu Zhou singing late. It can be said that you have her, which left a deep impression on people. On behalf of netizens, I want to know what is your relationship with her.
Cambridge: She is my best partner, a famous talented woman and a senior planner. We founded Cambridge Studio together. Without her advice and support, there would be no situation today. She keeps a low profile and is willing to work behind the scenes.
Reporter: Mr. Cambridge, thank you for accepting my interview in your busy schedule. I sincerely wish you good physical and mental health in the future! Create more and better MV music and ancient poetry paintings!
Cambridge: Actually, there is no need to promote me. If everyone likes my work, I will be satisfied.
After the interview, I was honored to feel Mr. Cambridge's abundant creative enthusiasm and humble and rigorous creative attitude at close range, and what impressed me more was his strong sense of social responsibility. When China's ancient excellent cultural heritage was gradually ignored and classical poetry gradually faded out of people's sight, he took the initiative to inherit and carry forward the traditional culture, which reflected an artist's humanistic conscience and dedication. From this, I thought of Hongmei who had experienced cold and loneliness. Isn't "no intention to fight for spring" and "only report spring" a true portrayal of Mr. Cambridge?
