Zhouhe, a tributary of Qujiang (or Heyuan), a tributary of Jialing River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, was originally named Tongchuan River. Because it flows through Dachuan District, it was called Dazhou in the Ming Dynasty, hence the name Zhouhe, which has been used ever since.
Zhouhe River originates in Xuanhan County and Wanyuan City of Sichuan Province at the southern foot of Daba Mountain, flows through Tongchuan District and Dachuan District of Dazhou City, joins Bahe River in Sanhui Town of Quxian County, and flows into Qujiang River, the largest river in Dazhou City.
Zhouhe is about 50 kilometers long in Dachuan, and flows through Nanwai Town, Heshi Town, Xinxing, Jinya, Shenjia, Dushi, Mutou and other towns. After the completion of Jinpanzi Navigation and Power Hub Project, the total storage capacity will reach 65438+ billion cubic meters, which can accommodate passenger and cargo ships below 500 tons. The territory is mainly composed of low mountains and hills, with a subtropical humid monsoon climate, four distinct seasons and a frost-free period. The river bank is beautiful, fresh and quiet, and there are many cultural and natural tourist attractions along the way, including Gayun Pavilion, Cuiping Mountain, Longzhua Tower, Zhongba Island, Chengdu Mountain Lawn Park, Dazhou Botanical Garden, Heshi Airport, Peach Blossom Garden, and Small Three Gorges Plank Road.
