I want to add another one. From the Disney animated blockbuster Inside Out released on 20 15.
This film tells the story of a girl (Riley) who struggles in a new environment and finally overcomes her fear and insecurity after her parents decide to move.
If the premise doesn't sound exciting, please rest assured that it will when viewed on the screen. The film brings us into Riley's mind in a very novel way, and lets us experience her journey through five humanized emotions: joy, sadness, fear, anger and disgust. These are all flesh and blood characters, guiding her movements on the console in the control room that looks like a spaceship.
Joy is the leader of this group. He just (of course) just wants to see Riley happy and do everything possible to stop the drooping sadness. Fear is too paranoid; Aversion, like snobbery and anger, is obviously a chip on your shoulder.
Most of the film takes place in Riley's mind, a surreal dream composed of a floating island (her personality), a huge luminous ball rack (her memory), a studio that made her dream, thoughts, abandoned pit memories and Riley's imaginary friends.
Disney's creative brain, as always, provides amazing animation effects and imaginative visual details of the inner workings of the human brain.
Opening scene
The opening of this film is so exquisite that it is hard not to marvel at its originality. The scene quickly introduced Riley, her five emotions and their dynamics, and the interesting life before moving, all of which were almost magical in seven minutes.
The scene opens and a blank screen is displayed. A voice says, "Are you looking at someone and wondering what's on his mind? Okay, I get it. I know Riley's head. "
A newborn Riley, held by his parents, appeared on the screen.
We walked into her brain. This is a dark and blank canvas. Except for the luminous objects, they will soon take on a happy shape. We saw her staring into Riley's eyes in surprise. She was Riley's first love. She pressed a big button on the console, which made Riley give her the first laugh and the first memory.
Soon, she was sad, and she was obviously a troublemaker (she made Riley cry). As Riley and the game consoles became bigger and bigger, other members of the gang followed suit.
The next few minutes show us Riley's growth, personality development, the formation of core memory and the hustle and bustle of daily emotional life. They spend every day happily without too much "harm". "Things couldn't be better," Joey exclaimed affectionately at the end of the scene. After all, Riley is now 1 1 years old. We feel scared and trembling, and everything will change.
If the symbol of a great opening ceremony is to hold the audience's throat, then Inside will surely succeed. I know. My five-year-old who didn't want to go to the movies at first protested loudly. At that time, I humorously pretended to turn off the TV after the scene.
