History of Hai 'an Flower Drum
Hai 'an Flower Drum, like the one in northern Jiangsu, the one in southern Jiangsu, and the one in the basket, belonged to a traditional opera performance with singing and dancing before the Ming Dynasty. The initial performance form of Hai 'an Flower Drum is divided into two parts: one is "playing field", also known as "Shang Yang Drum", which is often a song and dance of eight men and eight women; The second kind is "miscellaneous drama", also called "singing and offering". Its plays either praise Yingjie, tell stories or pour out love. In the old days, the Flower Drum Opera mainly had three roles: one was the matchmaker (Dan Jiao), the other was the "xianggong" (giving birth to jiao), and the third was the Sao Tartar (clown). The performance is divided into three parts. First, the square performance, with flower drum lanterns, lotus incense and stuffy gongs as props, performing acrobatics; Secondly, as the main body of the performance, "Singing Dedication" was performed indoors, and the opera was sung with Hua Gutiao, Lianxiang and Chuanxin tunes. The third paragraph is the "ending", or mainly juggling.
