There are different types of stage design in the West and China. Therefore, the abilities required for stage design include: knowledge of performance (or drama performance), stage painting, props making (arts and crafts), stage lighting, knowledge of evolution of props and clothing styles, knowledge of music and drama, knowledge of sound control, and so on.
