Yongdeng is located in central Gansu, northwest suburb of Lanzhou. It is the gateway of the ancient Silk Road and the hub of the Eurasian continent. Yongdeng is located at east longitude 102 36' to 103 45' and north latitude 36 12' to 37 07'. With a total area of 6,090 square kilometers and a total population of 500,000, it belongs to Lanzhou City. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with an average elevation of 2000 meters. The landform is "Three Rivers and Two Rivers": Qinwangchuan, Yongdengchuan, Babaochuan, Datong River and Zhuanglang River.
North-south length 107km, east-west width 10 1km. It has a continental climate, with an annual average temperature of 5.9℃, an annual average cooling water volume of 290 mm, an annual sunshine duration of 2659 hours and an average frost-free period of 1, 2 1 day. Four distinct seasons, abundant sunshine, no severe cold in winter, no intense heat in summer, mild climate and pleasant scenery. This is a summer resort.

As of June 28th, 2005, Yongdeng County has 1 13 towns, 5 townships (Dongping and Sailalong townships in Tianzhu County have not been officially handed over to Yongdeng County, but they are not included), 1 1 community neighborhood committees, 239 village committees and 65,438 villages.
Chengguan Town has jurisdiction over four community neighborhood committees in Dongjie, Jessie, Nanjie and Beijie, and six village committees in Beijie, Nanjie, Beilingguan, Gaojiawan, Wu Qu and Mancheng.
Vu Thang Yi Town governs Tungou Bay 1 community neighborhood committee, including Vu Thang Yi, Fuqiangbao, Xinmin, Huojiawan, Daoshun, Heilin, Shimen County, Niejiawan, Huojiatai, Jinzui, Shaotangou, Xiangyang, Duijiao, Jingjunbu, Sanzhuang, Gangzigou, Bluegrass, Ephedra and Shijiatan.
Bao Zhong Town has jurisdiction over two community neighborhood committees, namely Jincheng and Beipingtai, and five village committees, namely Wulidun, Tangtuwan, Bao Zhong, Wangjiawan, Qingshuihe, Luochengtan, Daying Bay, He Jiaying, Lujiazhuang and Xingjiawan 10.
Zhongchuan Town governs Zhongchuan 1 community neighborhood committees, including Cao Xi, Hejialiang, Xiahuajiajing, Liao Jia Trough, Chen Jiajing, Laijiapo, Tudun, Zongjialiang, Lujiajing, Pingxian, Fangjiapo, Daoshuitang, Yuanshan, Beiping, Hongyu, Zhoujialiang, Jianshan Temple and Shilakou.
Liancheng Town has jurisdiction over Tiejiatai 1 Community Neighborhood Committee and 8 village committees, namely Langpai, Liancheng, Dongheyan, tanggou, Fengle, Yonghe, Niuzhan and Mingjiazhuang.
Heqiao Town governs two community neighborhood committees, Nanguan and Jiangjiaping, namely, He Qiao, Nanguan, Ma Lian Beach, Tuanjie, Ma Jun, Leshan, Qili, Jiangjiaping, Area 4, Jiaota and Zhubu Village Committees 1 1.
Hongcheng Town has jurisdiction over nine village committees, namely Ningshuo, Yong 'an, Huashan, Xujiamo, Quanxia, Xiahe, Evolution, Fengshan and Yushan.
Shangchuan Town has jurisdiction over four village committees: Huangzitan, Hongjingcao, Wulian, Shaliangdun, Ganluchi, Siquan, Gulian, Dajialiang, Qilian, Miaolian, Laochitan, Guxiashan, Shanggushan and Dongchang 18.
Shuping Town governs 8 village committees, namely Shuping, Shangtan, Maoci, Liujiawan, Donggou, Xinghua, Yatou and Hajiazui.
Datong Town has jurisdiction over three village committees: Guojiadun, Wang Jiaping, Beitong, Nantong, Quanshuigou, Gao Cen, Anshan, New Countryside, Qingsi, Baojiawan, Jiajiachang, Yanmagou and Changchuan 13.
Kushui Town has jurisdiction over Zhoujiazhuang, Dashagou, Stan, Kushui Street, Runwheel Temple, Shawan, Hujiaba, Dalu, Shilipu, Xiaxingou, Shangxingou and Xintunchuan 12 village committees.
Qinchuan Town governs 2 1 village committees: Wudaoxian, Paotai, Yinjiazhuang, Xixiaochuan, Baojiayao, Huajiajing, Shengli, Liudun, Yuantai, Shimengou, Xiao Heng Road, Xinyuan, Jianxin, Zhenxing, Xuejiapu, Yuchuan, Longxi, Dongchuan, Xinchang, Xichang and Qinchang.
Longquansi Town has jurisdiction over six village committees: Fushan, Ruizhi, Bay, Longquan, Shuicaogou, Hexi, Yangjiaying, Feijiawan, Tongjiayao, Changlaochi, Dalaochi, garden village, Jianchaijing, Tumenchuan, Guanlugou, Shengou Village 16.
Pingcheng has nine village committees in Baituzui, Mantang, Tang Zhong, Pingcheng, Xiedigou, Henggou, Gaojiawan, Huoshidong and Yinggezui, while four village committees in Changshanhe, Jingergou, Sancha and Xiaoshagou have not been handed over to Tianzhu.
Minle Township has jurisdiction over 23 village committees: Xigou, Puguan, Qianzhuang, Immobile, Tiefeng, Poplar, Baling, Yuquan, Xichuan, Qingquan, Hongling, Nangou, Shuiman, Zhongchuan, Xianfeng, Jingtan, Heilong, Zhanlong, Xia Chuan, Anren, Xiaoyou, Kuangou and Dawan.
Tong Yuan Township governs 10 village committees such as Pailou, Xiaolin, Shang Ping, Bianling, Tuanzhuang, Qingling, Linping, Ling Jie, Zhangping and Laochi.
Qishan Township governs nine village committees, namely Panggou, Changgou, Guanchuan, Sujiaxia, Gou, Qianshan, Yupen, Xiongwan and Gedai.
Willow Township has jurisdiction over Fuxing, Pailu, Goujian, Willow, Yinger, Heicheng, Shancen, Li Jiawan, Kangjiajing, Hanjiajing, Sunjiajing, Qingshui, Hongshachuan and Jiaochang 14 village committees.
On February 22, 20 18, Yongdeng county was included in the list of counties (cities, districts) with basically balanced development of compulsory education in China in 20 17.
