Kicking style

Suona is often played as a leading instrument or with gongs and drums, which is suitable for expressing warm and jubilant atmosphere and magnificent scenes, especially for playing bold and exciting tunes and expressing inner thoughts and feelings deeply and delicately. This is a very expressive instrument. Suona can be used for solo, ensemble or accompaniment, and its playing style can be roughly divided into two groups: North and South. Playing suona in the south of China (including most traditional opera accompaniment) uses the method of circular ventilation and few other playing techniques to modify the melody.
