Since the Tang Dynasty, Guliangzhou has been the residence of Chinese envoys in Hexi, with prosperous business and developed economy, and has become the political, economic and cultural center of Hexi. Famous poets in Tang Dynasty, such as Gao Shi, Cen Can and Wang Wei, all left brilliant poems here. The famous Liangzhou Ci and Xiliang musicians in the Tang Dynasty became the pride of Wuwei. There are many places of interest in Wuwei. The Xixia Monument in the Confucian Temple in Wuwei, formerly known as the Reconstruction of the Induction Tower of Huguo Temple, was carved in Xixia 1094. The front and back of the tablet are engraved with Xixia language and translated Chinese respectively, which is a rare rare stone carving in China.
The most famous cultural relic in Wuwei is the bronze galloping horse unearthed from the Eastern Han Tomb in Leitai, north of the city. Bronze galloping horse, that is, Ma Chaolongque, commonly known as Ma Tayan. The horse is 34.5 cm high and 45 cm long. The horse's head is very high, three legs are flying, a sparrow is stepping on its right hind hoof, and a streamlined mane on its head points to its tail as if flying. Unique and ingenious shape, full of romantic color, in line with the principle of mechanical balance. Although the galloping horse is flying with three legs, and the whole body's center of gravity is only on the sparrow's back, it has successfully shaped a perfect shape with unrestrained movement speed and overall weight balance, and has become a rare artistic treasure in the world today and a graphic symbol of China tourism.
